Experienced and reliable pet sitter
Pet care experience
I'm a life-long dog owner who understands how important exercise and social interaction is for raising healthy, happy pets. I'm happy to provide that for your pets when you need to stay late at work or have planned weekend out of town. I have Rovered since 2017 in Alabama and Nashville. I’ve connected with weekly clients who loved to play with my own dog, Sadie, tourists passing through who need a dog sitter for just a few hours and busy professionals who know they can call on me when they book a last-minute work trip. As a volunteer for animal rescue organizations, I've fostered adult and puppies in my home, including dogs with special needs like blindness. My dog is my family, and I will treat your pet as my own. ** I'm unable to take boarding clients at this time, but am happy to work with you to customize a drop-in/housesitting schedule to fit your needs.**
Reviews
Thank you Melissa! Our dog and cat were super happy & very comfortable with her visits. We really appreciate how well she took care of them while we were away & can’t recommend her enough.
Melissa was wonderful. She came over twice before our trip to get acquainted with the dogs who warmed up to her right away. I could tell the girls were well taken care of upon our return.
Melissa is always patient with my last minute requests! I know when she checks in with my dogs they are in safe hands.
Melissa is awesome and takes great care of my dogs, definitely recommend booking with her :)

At your home, I do whatever is best for your pet. I've cared for incredibly active dogs who need multiple walks a day, in addition to docile animals who just need some company on the couch. I am flexible to meet your family's needs. I do have a policy against taking dogs to dog parks, as there are just too many factors for me to ensure your dog’s safety! Thank you for understanding.
Information Melissa B. would like to know about your pet
I have no breed preferences, but would love to know how your dog prefers to interact with others. Are they an introvert or do they never meet a stranger? I would like to know if the dog has any social anxieties I should be aware of when taking them into public. My own dog does not like to be approached from behind while she's on leash, for example, so I take great care to minimize those situations while we're in public. I am very sensitive to the needs of every dog, and knowing each dog's unique behaviors is the best way to keep them safe and happy! Does your dog need to eat alone? Are there certain toys or games they prefer?
A typical day
I live in East Nashville within walking distance to Shelby Park and other green spaces. I prefer not to take pups to dog parks until I've spent a lot of time with them and know their personalities, but I'm happy to go for long walks or play fetch in the backyard.

I am most flexible for bookings in the East Nashville/Lockeland Springs area. My schedule is flexible, and I'd love to discuss how we could make it work for your pet!
