Pet care experience
I stay with my mom and step dad four times per year and help to care for their two dogs, a Shih Tzu and a rescue dog that is at least part Shih Tzu. I walk, feed, brush, and play with them! I also have a roomate who lives with me who has a Beagle/Terrier mix and I love her so much! I just have a soft spot when it comes to dogs! I have also previously had a long term boyfriend who got a Golden Lab/Retriever mix and helped care for her from when she was a puppy until she was about 3 years old. I would get a dog of my own but during the school year there are some days I am away from home for too many hours. I am an elementary teacher so now, during the summer I have time and availability to provide your dog with the care and love you need! In September I will only be available for weekends.

If I will be walking your dog I will want to know how he/she reacts to other dogs and people so I can be prepared and safe. I will want to make sure that a dog is potty trained if I have them here at my home. If your dog is not friendly with other dogs I can close a gate to ensure that my roomates' dog can stay in the lower level and your dog can stay in the upper level with me.
A typical day
I will be happy to take your lead in regard to locations for walks. If I pet sit here at my home I have an ideal location. I live in a townhome community with many dogs! There are sidewalks throughout and many people also walk on the street so everyone is pretty careful driving. I like to play fetch or other games too!
