Pet care experience
I have been a stay at home mom for over 16 years caring for my kids, husband and dogs. I have been the primary caregiver of our pets. My best friend, Chopper and I would go for walks on the beach looking for shells, jogs on local trails and to park to get the exercise we both needed. Or we would just sit together and vent about the life. Chopper is/was a Boxers which are very energetic dogs with amazing personality. They say dogs are like their owners and in this case our energy and personality were insync. I am available during the day for exercise or attention and will do evening walks on occasion, but I like to dedicate weekend & evenings for family. I

Melanie is absolutely wonderful with dogs. It does not matter if its a big great Dane or a small Chihuahua she gives the animals all the love that she can. I have had her watch my dog multiple times, and I have the hardest time making my dog leave her house, he would much rather stay there with her. I highly recommend Melanie if you are looking for a person that will treat your dog as if it was her own.
I think Melanie would be a great addition to have. Her love for animals shows thru, it always did when it came to my two dogs, Abigail and Molly. When I would say Mama Mel is coming, they knew exactly what that meant. The excitement they showed told me all I needed to know.
Melanie would be a great fit for any position because of her love and care for animals. In the past 20 years we have had 2 Boxers and a bunny. There was never a time where she neglected our pets even in the busiest of times. She always found time to take our pups for walks, the beach, or park so they could run around. There were many times my mom showed compassion for wild animals, since our house backs up to a canyon there were always squirrels, bunnies, or birds she would feed. She has many bird and hummingbird feeders up around our backyard. Whenever we have fruits or veggies that are about to go bad or after she juices, she sets them over the fence for the bunnies.

I love all breeds of dogs, my favorite is Boxer. I never had been into small dogs until one of my friends little dog befriended me. I was sitting there talking and she jumped on my lap and proceeded to put her head and paws on my shoulder. My friend said she was hugging me. It was super cute! My sister and sister in law have small dogs and they both jump on my lap for some lovin. So now I have to say they won my heart!
A typical day
I have recently been helping my daughter with her Long Haired German Shepherd. He is full of energy and strength at less than a year old. I take him on 3 mile walks twice a week. I either stay on the sidewalk or the trails around the area where they live. I bring a large water bottle for each of us. He is exhausted when we get back. My daughter said after I leave he sits by the door waiting for me to return.
