🌱 A Bit About Me I’m a lifelong animal lover who studied animal science in college. I care deeply about animals and their welfare, which has led me to become vegan and previously volunteer at shelters and rescues. My full-time job isn't animal-related, so I enjoy working with pets on the side through a local pet sitting company and Wag!. I love caring for pets because I know I'm doing something important - helping to meet their needs for exercise, mental stimulation, and socialization. ________________ 🐕 Sorry, I am not taking pitbulls and a handful of other breeds not covered by homeowners insurance. ________________ 🌲 Hikes and Excursions - Available weeknights and weekends - I'd love to help meet your dog's needs for exercise, mental stimulation, and exploration by taking them on a longer walk - Longer walk around your neighborhood or to a local park such as Theodore Wirth (no dog parks) - Includes a map of the route and distance - I can jog with pups that have a need for speed - they set the pace and can stop and sniff to their heart's content - $30 for first hour and $15 for each additional hour; additional fee for travel to a destination

Melanie was great with our two cats and golden retriever. This was an extended stay during a family vacation, and we were worried a bit about our pets getting anxious. But Melanie was so kind and attentive that the cats and dog were totally fine. They came back home happy as ever. Melanie sent daily updates about the day's activities and big bonus is that she sent great photos with every update. Highly recommend!
Melanie was so amazing! I could tell both of our dogs felt right at home with her and received the best care while we were away. She left us detailed updates with pictures each day and was able to get them out for their walks at different parks. I'll definitely be having my pups stay with her again!
Melanie took such wonderful care of our 2 year old cat, Elmo. Elmo has some trouble with change and being away from us but Melanie did everything she could to make sure that Elmo was as comfortable as possible. The updates were very thorough, the pictures were wonderful, and we felt assured that Elmo was in good hands while we were away. We are extremely grateful to have found someone who we can trust to take good care of Elmo. Thank you, Melanie!

A typical day
I will try to replicate your dog's daily routine as much as possible, through frequent let-outs, playtime, treats/Kongs/puzzles/bones, walks, and snuggles. I know how important regular exercise, mental stimulation, and love is for our four-legged friends.

Availability
I work remotely and am home most of the time.
