Bonjour, Pet Pawrentals! Thank you for trotting along my (career) path… aka “The Road Less Travelled” ( *Rover is my full-time gig* ). I can firmly shake a paw, that you will not regret scratching and sniffing my post… and I double dog dare you to take a chance on me, for your ongoing home and pet TLC needs :) I am a 44 1/2 years young non smoker or partier, and am fluently bilingual in baby-talking/singing (I can’t help it). I am bright-eyed and bushy-tailed at the crack of dawn, and am looking to focus all of my adoring and undivided attention, caring for and providing companionship (aka smothering) to your precious (adult/senior) fur kiddo(s). I’m a real sucker for laidback lap dogs/cats (of all sizes and breeds), and for the time being, am solely caring for trained low/moderate energy doggos and exceptionally gentle cattos :)

Melanie cared for our rat terrier, Rosie, for 3 weeks in April, and we are thrilled with the experience! I was nervous because we had never left Rosie with anyone, and for such a long time. Melanie met with me ahead of time to let me & Rosie get comfortable with her -- I knew right away we'd be in good hands, and Rosie adored her from the start! Melanie sent lots of messages and photos every day, and we ended up chatting about everything from food and the weather to my houseplants. She followed my detailed instructions for treats, exercise, and dog food, and left our house spotless, even washed the towels & sheets. We highly recommend Melanie because she is a very responsible dog-sitter, and is truly passionate about dogs. I think Rosie would have gone home with her if she could, they really bonded with all that cuddling! We will ask Melanie to care for Rosie for all future trips.
Melanie was an absolute joy to deal with for this overnight Rover first timer. Her enthusiasm to meet the boys and bond with them immediately sold me. Ray and Russ loved her too! It was such a great experience for all that we rebooked Melanie on the spot!
Melanie stayed at my home for 2 weeks to take care of my cat Angel. I have to say that she was absolutely wonderful. My cat was very comfortable with Melanie and she took fantastic care of her. She left my home spotless, the way I left it. I have never had such a marvelous sitter. I would absolutely book Melanie again. Melanie went above and beyond and took loads of pictures of Angel as the progression of my cat's trust became greater. If you want the greatest sitter book Melanie P. Melanie is a natural dog lover and an excellent communicator. Even prior to the stay, her communication was amazing and extremely fast. We left our reactive rescue with her and it was obvious that she was loved and cared for in our absence. Melanie took precautions when needed and communicated any mishaps or uncertainties. As a bonus, our place was cleaner than when we left! I highly recommend Melanie as a dogsitter who goes above and beyond to make sure everything goes well while you're away.

Above all else, I am a woman of integrity, and I form connections through trust, respect and loyalty. I am familiar with dogs’ and cats’ signals for personal space and consent for playing and petting. I am also familiar with recognizing and responding to an animal’s anxiety, pain and distress. I make a fantabulous bunk-mate (woofrences say so), and being the loyal (same apartment) tenant for decades that I am, I will take the utmost care of your property, while keeping boogeymen away. Need your mail taken in? I’m on it. Plants watered? I’m your gal. Garbage and recycling taken out? Sure thang. Pool cleaned? Yes please! Lawn mowed or driveway shoveled? Never say never. Dry cleaning picked up? There’s a first for everything. Although fur and slobber are more than welcomed as accessories, I’m immaculately tidy… to a fault. Aside from fluffy begging for « that goofy lady » to come back for another slumber party, you won’t even notice I was there… except for maybe my flipping of the toilet paper roll :)

What are their behaviour tendencies? Any (aversive) triggers or special needs? Any known allergies? Does he or she like to pose for the camera? Does your pet need training treats to be given throughout our walks? Are there any commands you would like me to practice with them? Is there a certain walking duration and/or speed that needs to be maintained due to past or present injury or illness? What is their usual day to day routine? Potty break schedule? Favourite toy? Any dietary restrictions? What are their sleeping arrangements? Are they more of a breakfast or supper fan… or both? What about dessert? During cuddle sessions, does pooch prefer to be the big or small spoon? Any snoring? :) In closing, I’d like to state that I very much value forthright communication and transparency. With that in mind, I welcome any and all (relevant and respectful) questions/suggestions/concerns surrounding my Rover services. Additionally, I have been painstakingly budgeting in a way that allows for a teeny bit of wiggle room to potentially (depending on individual pet needs and owner preferences) adjust (+/-) my rates, pre-booking and through this app. That said, being the thriving Solopreneur that I am, my mission is to not have to turn any potential Rover client away, due to temporary financial constraints (I very much get it!), and I will try my absolute best (within reason) to accommodate any and all sensible requests, on an honour system. You scratch my back and I’ll scratch yours… and pup’s warm belly, of course! Let’s connect :)
A typical day
When we’re not having a staring contest (aka making googly eyes at each other), playing Patty cake or sharing our secrets, puppers and I will be strolling along their favourite trails (coffees in paws), while showing off our unshakable bond and mapping out our next adventure. When Mother Nature isn’t cooperating, your kiddo and I will be play-wrestling each other on the floor, or they will be all giddy to show me their game room, so they can play show and tell with me… introducing me to all their gadgets and gizmos :)

I’ve recently embarked on a « soul-bbatical » journey. (Kinda like Eat, Pray, Love… except I rent and live in my own apartment, downtown). With “Dogs” and “Freedom” being my top two Love Languages (and with much earnestness), I’ve created space in my life where I gratefully get to incorporate both. First and foremost, You and your Pet are my Sole Employers, and the wellbeing of your home and precious animals are paramount. To help pay the bills (and while allowing your wee and not-so-wee ones the luxury and convenience of remaining in their comfortable and safe environment), I will at times (during the day only) check in on other Fellow Rovers. With your fur-kiddo’s help (bragging about me to all their fluff mates), my ultimate one-woof/meow-at-a-time dream is to have you and yours as my lifelong pals. Ensure I’m in your babes’ speed dial, and I will be at their barking or purring call ‘round the Rover clock :)
