Pet care experience
Hi, my name is Melanie. I'm an elementary special education teacher. I’ve lived in Sonoma county since 2009 and love it here. I absolutely love animals and finally have my own companion to take care of. I still enjoy taking care of other furry friends, though. I love the outdoors and would love to take your pet anywhere from around the neighborhood, to a nearby dog park, or even for a hike. I had a dog, snake, and rat growing up and have had experience with lot of other friends and family’s pets, so the experience is there. I am very reliable and would love the opportunity to meet and spend time with your loved one. Please let me know your needs and I’d be happy to help if I’m available to do so!

Melanie is the kind of human dogs are drawn to. From the first time she met my furkid, they had a great rapport! She is patient, kind, & does not back down from a challenge (ask about her day job). My dog is extremely particular about toys, has lots of food allergies, & endless energy. Melanie has never batted an eye at any of it. She transitions seamlessly between different rules for the different dogs she's with & doesn't forget them which is so important if you have a dog with any specific training or health issues. She's naturally active & has been known to take dogs on walks, hikes, & bike rides. You can trust her with your pets & I recommend her without hesitation!
Melanie is my go-to dog walker every time I go out of town. I have a very large chocolate lab named Gunner who still believes he is a puppy. Not only does Melanie do a great job watching after Gunner, she is a great individual to work with. Melanie follows through with her word and truly loves dogs. 10/10

I live in a condo that I own. I would prefer to care for animals in their home where they are comfortable, but am able to take animals to my home, if needed. I do have a puppy of my own now who is very friendly with other animals as well as kids and elders and everything in between. I am happy to accommodate whatever needs your pet have based on the information given by the owner.

A typical day
I am a big outdoor adventurer. I am happy to take furry friends anywhere they'd like to go from a simple walk around the neighborhood, a dog park, a solid hike, you name it! I enjoy going to Spring Lake and Taylor Mountain.

I work all week as a special education teacher, but am free in the early mornings or late afternoons/evenings and I get time off on weekends and during vacation time and summer. I am happy to help out where I can- just shoot me a message and I will let you know if I am available or not!
