Pet care experience
Dogs and cats have been in my life for over 20 years. I currently have two kittens and a 16 year old Border Collie. I have previously had a rescue Border Collie in my family, a boy who needed special care day and night. I love all animals and am involved in the protection of wildlife and their habitats.

We had Melaine look after our elderly cat over the Christmas period. Mel did a fabulous job and is obviously a pet lover. What we liked she is that she didn’t just pop in but gave Barney (cat) some love and attention. We would highly recommend her services. Roger
I know Melanie as a friend , and also as a fellow councillor on the Otterton Parish Council. Melanie adores dogs. She takes excellent care of her own dog, and also of mine. Melanie is very trustworthy and considerate. She is well respected in the community, demonstrated by her elected post as a Councillor for East Devon County Council. Anyone who has Melanie to take care of their pets will be very fortunate.
I’’be known Mel for over 5 years. We met due to mutual friends. She moved to Devon. My family & I stayed in an Airbnb in Devon, but the property we stayed in didn’t allow animals. Mel cared for Maggie overnight & during the day. She was amazing. She made my dog feel at home, regular videos, texts to keep me informed. I would happily recommend her & her home. She is so caring & goes the extra mile. Top dog boarder!

It’s important to know the personality of your animals as well as breed and their routines. If you are going away you need to trust that somebody is up to the job of caring for your precious fluffs, but they will also miss you and need to feel comfortable, I do my best to bond, and most animals seem to like me.
A typical day
A typical day would involve waking up to two hungry cats and a dog. I take a good walk for exercise, followed by a shorter walk with my elderly dog for her exercise. I enjoy a coffee and then leave for work until 4.30 when I finish and head for home to more hungry cats and dogs. ?.

I’m self employed so have flexibility in my working day. I have a car so getting about is no problem, speak to me and I’ll try and accommodate requests where I can.
