Pet care experience
I’ve taken care of dogs, cats and rabbits at all stages of life and who often have special needs. I have fostered over 70 dogs and cats including neonatals, paraplegic and senior animals. I am comfortable with bathing, giving oral and syringe medication (to pets who don’t want it usually), expressing bladders, and most other tasks a vet would ask someone to do at home. I currently have four small dogs (two geriatric, one rear paralyzed), four cats and two rabbits. The different species mostly stay segregated (I have some curious cats and my smallest dog cosplays as a cat). Finally I have a pretty big backyard that is fully fenced! Also, for drop-ins I do sometimes take my preteen daughter, and if this is unacceptable to you, please let me know prior to the start of booking.

Melanie has watched our cat twice now, and we feel lucky to have found her! She sends detailed updates about each visit and is easy to communicate with. Our cat can be a bit anxious but took to her right away. Likely because she’s great about indulging his love of shenanigans! He has a blast when Melanie visits, and we feel confident that he’s in good hands whenever we have to be away from home. I highly recommend Melanie to anyone looking for a cat sitter.
Melanie is my go-to sitter. It is evident she understands how anxious I feel when I leave my cats because she is great about communicating with me about how they are doing.
Melanie dropped in on our cats while we were out of town and was absolutely wonderful! She provided lots of pictures in her reports and the cats seemed to really like her. We are super chill in the house and love cuddles and playing in the backyard! Our fun activities include lots of toys and doggy puzzles, and walks around the neighborhood (if that’s your thing!)

Availability
I work from home so I attend to pets needs as needed, letting the dogs out every 2-3 hours. I don’t leave the house for more than 2-3 hours at a time to accommodate their needs.
