Pet care experience
I’ve always loved animals of all kind. I spent the past three years working full time for a bonded and insurance professional pet sitting company where I walked and cared for over 100 different dogs, cats and other animal companions. When I was younger, I volunteered at the Animal Shelter to assist with the care of rescued pets. I’ve taken care of all types of animals from fish and birds to horses, cats and dogs. I am comfortable working with all ages from puppy age to seniors needing assistance. I have worked with many owners on training their dogs and will be happy to help reinforce anything you are teaching them. I am comfortable giving medication and hand feeding as well. Please reach out to me with any questions. My schedule is flexible so feel free to reach out to me to accommodate your needs! I will be available for dog walking weekdays, Monday through Friday from 7am- 3pm and will have flexibility for check ins some evenings as well so just contact me and we can work it out! I have one dog who loves all other dogs and is very playful! If you don’t have a yard of your own and your dog likes other dogs I can bring them over to romp with our pup in our huge, fenced in yard! I also love being outside and would love to take your dog hiking for a day trip to Whitmarsh Preserve, Skidaway State Park or any other place you request!

We've used Melanie twice now and Rocco is definitely loving his sitter! In combination with his regular exercise time with Mom he's able to get all that energy out so he's ready for bed in the evenings. Pics show that he genuinely loves his visits! Will definitely be booking for next time!
Melanie has taken great care of dogs and other animals since she was young. She always gives animals the best care, and I wouldn't hesitate to let her watch any of my animals. She's been dog-walking for years and has a lot of professional experience, too!
Melanie knows animals. She's able to understand them almost as clearly as if they spoke English just based on the small signals animals use like a slightly tilted ear, a deliberate nose lick, or a little huff. On top of that, Melanie is empathetic. She always puts the needs of her charges higher than her own. She looked after my dog Bronze who is a Siberian husky mix with a lot of behavioral issues. She knew how to keep him calm and help him cope with my absence. She has her own little fluffer, a rescue who spent his first years eating out of trashcans. He's the most adorable and well-mannered dog I've met. And lastly, it is important to mention Melanie doesn't shy away from inclement weather. As long as the dog will enjoy it, she'll be out there giving them a rigorous and fun walk. Look no further for your reliable and gentile doggy friend.

I have worked with all breeds and dogs of all sizes with many different needs! I've worked with high energy pups to dogs to dogs who need assistance walking. I'm fine with every type of temperament, just let me know what your dog likes and dislikes. I have worked with many dogs who prefer to avoid other dogs on walks, or are afraid of bike and cars and I can totally accommodate their needs to make them feel safe and have fun!
A typical day
I'm here for your animal friends so I will do whatever makes them feel happiest! If they like playing ball, we can fetch in the yard til they're tired out. If they're the type who likes a slow and steady, sniffy sort of walk we can take our time moseying around the neighborhood. Just let me know what your animal companion likes and I'll make sure they have fun.
