From dogs, cats, fish, guinea pigs, and even a chinchilla, I grew up around animals. Prior to retirement, my mother was a Professional Dog Groomer by trade. Back in those days, dogs could still be purchased from pet stores. As a girl, I would go to work with her just to cuddle, play, and walk each dog that was for sale, even creating a small bed of towels in the corner of the grooming room to lay with the dogs. My parents also bred and raised both English and Irish Setters in those days. Because my mother had to keep one pup from every liter (she just couldn’t part with all of them), I was raised with five English Setters and one Irish Setter, two cats, and two Oscar (very large) fish. Going for walks were quite challenging for me as a young girl with six dogs so I was eventually limited to two dogs per walk. Today, I have one Irish Setter, O’Malley and an English Setter named Pippa. But more importantly, I have an avid love for dogs and all animals that has stuck with me to adulthood. Having choose a career that allows me to take both dogs with me to work every day, they are truly my babies (and unfortunately in some cases, they know it). My work place is pet friendly and is always welcome to all four-legged fur babies (and it has nothing to do with animals). If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to ask!
