Animals have always been a part of my life and family. I find a lot of joy in caring for them and appreciate the reciprocal relationship that develops with them over time. No matter what mood I’m in, my interactions with animals often leave me in a positive state of mind.

Melanie did a great job caring for my dog and two cats. Very professional!
Melanie instantly fell in love with both of our dogs. Walter, one of our dogs, is a reluctant eater, and Melanie was determined to help him with that. She sent us a video of her hand feeding him. They both clearly enjoyed the process. She is extraordinarily good about staying in touch with what's happening, and we appreciated the updates and photos of our happy dogs while we were away. Melanie is exceptionally fine-tuned to this work, and we will always choose her for our dogs. She did such a great job that we included a large tip.
Melanie has housesat and pet sat for us several times over the last couple years. Our dog Chai is always thrilled to see her which is reassuring and comforting. I trust Melanie 100% to follow through with exercise and I feel comforted knowing Chai is getting a lot of attention and love. I know Melanie goes beyond the basics and also seems to truly enjoy our dog.

My landlord does not permit animals in the building, so I would have to come where your animals are. I can either walk a dog from your home, stop by for feedings , or house-sit as needed.

General attitude and friendliness levels would be good to know, and any illnesses or injuries to be aware of. Diet and normal amount of daily activity would help me know what would be doable and pleasant for them :)
A typical day
My favorite spots are Sequoia Park, moonstone, and the inside of the north jetty, on the bay side. I grew up in Humboldt and am very athletic and adventurous…a perk of hiring me is that instead of feeling sad around the house your pet could be out in the redwood forest, or elsewhere :)

Availability
I work full time, Mon-Fri from 8-4:30. Any time outside of this I am happy to work doing sitting or walking, and I’m open to staying overnight but would prefer to do that Fri-Sun. I can be somewhat flexible with your needs. I am looking to supplement my income, but also just really enjoy having animals in my life and can’t have them in my own home.
