I have always had dogs in my life. At some points even 3 dogs living in one home! I grew up with a german shepard, great dane, and yellow lab. Into my adolescence and young adulthood we had shepard mixes, hounds, and GSPs. Needless to say, just from my own upbringing I've experienced a variety of dog sizes and personalities that came with their individual set of needs. Beyond my at home pet experience and caregiving, I have also cared for other peoples pets. Some of whom have required medications, had physical impairments, and reactivity problems. With reactivity in mind, my most recent pup Noah was the first dog I had all to myself. Unfortunately, he passed away in February 2023. Noah was 110lb lab mix who had severe reactivity and behavioral issues. I want to highlight this because I understand what it is like to have a reactive dog and how helpless you can feel when trying to find outside care during your travel etc. I am willing to work with reactive dogs - in a safe way. I am willing to meet your dog a few times in a safe environment before moving forward with actually spending time alone with them. After Noah's passing in Feb. I decided to dedicate my extra time to volunteering at Richmond Animal Control's Shelter. I have spent time here with a diverse array of dog personalities and sizes as well.
