Mel was great with my dog and flexible when I needed to extend her stay. I would definitely book her again!

I hate leaving bad reviews but I’ve also never had a bad Rover experience until today. I just felt like I needed to leave this review in order to save others from the same experience. We found this sitter off of reviews here and because she was super close to the Airbnb we were staying at. While there were other things that made us uneasy, one of the things that led me to leave a 1 star review was that she forgot to feed him. We dropped off our dog at 6am and picked him up at 5pm. When we dropped him off, we handed Mel his food but felt like she was really trying to just rush us out the door. We figured it was just really early in the morning, so we tried not to think about it. However, when we picked him up at 5pm she gave us back the same bag of food and told us she was just about to feed him, he was just having so much fun playing... He didn’t eat during the 11 hours he was with her. When we got him back, he was definitely very tired but also panting like he hadn’t had water in a while. I’m not implying she didn’t give him water (it could be that he didn’t want to drink much) but I do think that letting him loose to play and not separating the dogs for a break is unsafe. I am scarred by this experience and will never put him up with another rover sitter in a different city.
