Pet care experience
I've taken care of dogs since I was 8. I watched the dogs of family and friends because dogs seemed to really like me. My own dog, who is like my child, lost her leg during quarantine due to a fall while barking at a passerby. Since then I've gained experience with handicapped dogs and how to care for them. I often am looked to for all sorts of pet care ranging from walking, bathing, and feeding to helping dogs take their medication or, even, wiping up vomit or fecal matter off of the dog or the walls. I love pets in general; I treat them as I would a younger sibling or even my own child. Pets deserve the best and nothing more, so my philosophy is why not give them all the love and care in the world?

Meilani is an awesome, loving pet caregiver. She has a dog of her own named Lilo, who she absolutely loves. She has a passion for animals/pets and loves spending time with them. I have no doubt she would make a great sitter/walker for your pet(s). Your pets will love her!

In my current residence (a dorm), I'm not allowed to have pets unless they are medically approved. However, at my home before I moved into college, I never kept any doors to the outdoors open or unlocked because my dog could open doors. So, when I am in California I am able to watch pets in my home in addition to walking pets and pet sitting at the clients' homes! In every home, I make sure there is nothing present or out that could cause harm to the doggies, even if that means putting away chairs or toys are decorations that the puppies could choke on or use to get into food they aren't supposed to be eating. And, I always make sure to ask what I am and am not allowed to give to the pupperoos just in case of allergies or stomach intolerance. My main objective is to make sure that the doggy is safe and happy, the owner feels comfortable allowing me to take care of their child (pup), and the home is left the same way or cleaner than when I arrived.

I'd just need to know if there are any health and/or behavioral obstacles that may affect activities or nutrition. Also, I'd like to know if there are any specific needs and preferences!
A typical day
I love to play games with the pets I care for! I go on walks and runs with them, but I also like to have picnics with them or just include them in everything I do, with the exception of using the bathroom and showering. One of my favorite things to do with older, slower, fatigued pets is to set up a blanket at a park or at the beach or in a grassy area to watch the sunset.

Availability
I am a full time student at Howard University, so my availability is Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday afternoon. Even though I am busy most of the week, besides the mentioned days, I can make exceptions and am willing to also do shorter visits or play dates during the week if I am able. I will always make time for doggy time! Also, during the holidays I will be back home in California, meaning I will have more availability!
