Certified Veterinary Assistant

Pet care experience

I have both personal and professional experience with cats, dogs, and pocket pets of all ages. I have done volunteer work for the Humane Society and the ANNA shelter in Erie. I have participated in an externship at a local veterinary hospital. I have worked in a playcare and boarding facility and I have experience with administration of medications as well as pet nutrition. I even make homemade pet food toppers! I offer this as part of my service as well! I love all dogs but I will admit that I simply do not have a home that is built for any dogs above 60lbs. Though I am more than happy to take care of them within the comfort of your own home. I am currently working as a PCA for someone in my home so I will have plenty of time to look after your loved ones. There are also several people in home that are experienced with pet care that would love to play with your furry ones!

Meghann is an absolute all-star! She takes amazing care of my dog, and my home. I know I can trust her, and she always sends me updates and photos. I highly recommend her!

After having multiple bad experiences leaving my dog, Ava, at daycares/kennels, Meghann was a dream come true. Meghann went above and beyond sitting for Ava to the point that Ava didn’t want to leave. It was immediately clear that Meghann was very experienced. She was prepared with questions to make sure she had every bit of information about my dog she needed, made sure to speak/interact with my dog the same way I do, and even checked on my allergies to make sure Ava wouldn’t eat anything that could then harm me. Meghann was always very communicative. She consistently kept me updated with detailed messages and daily photos and videos and responded to my messages very quickly. My favorite part was that Ava got a ton of playtime/exercise and came home absolutely exhausted. If you were on the fence about hiring a dog sitter like I was, Meghann is the perfect sitter for you. Overall, she performed a 10/10 service and I couldn’t be happier.

Communication was great prior to the visit and during. Pepper was tired and happy after his visit. I would definitely recommend and would book again.

Information Meghann J. would like to know about your pet

As of 3/15/23 I will be charging my drop-in rate for all new meet and greets. This amount will be deducted from the total of the next future service. For new clients, I require a meet & greet so that I can get to know you and we can go over the care of your fur children. I need at least three days warning for any new clients so that we may meet up and we both have an adequate amount of time to figure out if your pet is the perfect match! Any bookings made with less than three days' notice will incur an additional 20% charge on the booking. I like to know their diet, any allergies, any health conditions, medications, flea and tick prevention, as well as the preferred vet that they go to. If your pet will be staying with me I need proof of rabies, distemper, and bordetella. If I am housesitting I require proof of rabies, though distemper is recommended as well!

A typical day

I have a busy household, especially with extra fur-babies! This provides great stimulation for each guest in my home. My morning consists of letting all my pups (and guests) outside to go potty and stretch, start off with some morning zoomies! We come inside and have some breakfast then we play some games with toys, treat hiding, and fetch! A busy dog is a sleepy dog! During the holiday seasons, your pets and I may have some fun doing arts and crafts together. Afternoon naps are common. Who doesn't feel tired after lunch? I know I certainly wanna crash. In the evening we have dinner then we go for walks around the neighborhood or at Wintergreen Gorge. If your pup requires a little extra walk, I provide those as well! Finally, the end of the night is meant for absolute relaxation. We finish a busy day with some comforting classical or juicy jazz music to help make bedtime all the more calming.
