Hello! I am a recent honors Microbiology graduate from Cal State Long Beach and absolutely love animals! I’ve been with animals all my life and love to take care of them and take them on walks in my free time. I am very active and I’d love to walk and be with your animals since I don’t have any of my own at the moment! I am very patient and active; I love to go hiking and animals so dog walking and care are perfect for me! Though, relaxing with a kitty is also a great pastime :) I have also groomed family friends' animals during our stays for an additional cost, if that's something you're interested in!

Meghan watched my dogs for me during my honeymoon last April! I have three larger dogs, including a pit mix. Many people are apprehensive about watching big breeds, especially pit bulls but Meghan was nothing but polite and sweet to my girls!! She sent me daily updates and pictures that put me at ease while I was away. It was hard for me to trust someone with their care but Meghan made sure I always knew they were living their best lives while I was gone! My lab mix Roxie has special dietary restrictions and requires some extra tlc, including being given her medicine every morning and Meghan was very good with giving it to her on time and making sure she didn’t eat the other dogs food. I had a great experience with Meghan and was able to focus on having a good time knowing my babies were in good hands!

With all pets I care for, I make sure they are comfortable with me before engaging in any pets by allowing them to sniff and initiate contact. When walking, if they are reactive to other animals/stimuli, I sit with them and allow them time to calm down before we proceed on the walk. Of course, when pet sitting, I am sure to monitor their pee/poo schedule and make sure they eat their meals and drink water.

It is important to know their activity level so that I can be sure to give them the appropriate amount of walks/ exercise daily (typically one walk/day for lower energy dogs and 2-3 for higher energy dogs). Any quirks that your pup may have that you know how to manage would also be great to know! Also, if dog sitting, I would like to know their daily routine and how to best make the transition as easy on your dog as possible. For cats, I would love to know their typical routine, what their favorite form of interaction is, and if they are reactive to certain pets.
A typical day
I typically walk dogs, so we would go on walks around your neighborhood! If there is a park nearby, I’d love to play fetch with them as well! For dog sitting, fetch at the park or in your backyard would be great, or tug of war! For cats, I love cuddling, giving them lots of pets, playing with the laser/ their favorite toy.

Availability
As I do have a day job, house-sitting or checking in on your animals would fit right in, especially if they are anxious at night time. I would be a wonderful companion while you're away!
