I have cared for dogs my entire life. From farm dogs as a kid (black lab Jedi and shepherd mix Cody) to house dogs as an adult (rottweiler mix Mara Jade, dachshund Max, border collie mix Leia)... I have almost always had a dog around who was my responsibility. My partner and I are both self-employed and work from home, so we are around during the day all day. That means plenty of time to hang out with your pup, frequent bathroom breaks and lots of scratches! We live in a single-floor duplex that does not have a fenced yard, but does have plenty of room to roam between the house, converted garage (we use it as a movie room and art studio) and a large fenced porch area. No stairs and plenty of green space around the house for walks. We lost our old man dachshund in April and are partially doing this for personal reasons — our dog Leia could use some companionship and we aren’t quite ready to get another dog. 🧡
