Love/attention galore for your dog
Pet care experience
I have always been a dog lover. My mother gifted me with an AKC guide book when I was about 7 years old, which I immediately read front to back. I started watching the dogs in my childhood neighborhood by the time I reached 11 or 12 years old. To this day, I am the sort of person that can (and will) identify a Clumber Spaniel or a PBGV from a far distance. Though professionally I work as a writer, photographer, and designer on an independent contract basis, anything dog-related continues to be a passion of mine. I am fortunate in that my career path has allowed me to earn a living from home, and that oftentimes I am able to set my own hours. Since 2016, I have been boarding, sitting, and walking dogs on a consistent basis in Somerville and Cambridge. In the summer of 2019, my partner and I finally found a permanent home in a Watertown duplex, where we live with one additional roommate. Our house includes a fully enclosed private backyard and plenty of indoor room to play We have a hound dog of our own, Pluto, who gets along well with just about anyone (his playmates have ranged from Italian Greyhounds to Newfoundlands). As an added bonus, I am a professional photographer. If you're looking for a portrait of your pooch or photo updates of what your dog is up to while you're away, I'm more than happy to provide ; )
Reviews
Meghan was great! This is the third time we’ve brought our dog to stay with her and our dog was excited to run right in and play. Meghan asked great questions, paid attention to our instructions, and gave thorough updates.
Meghan was great! She took care of our dog for three nights. She communicated well, asked great questions, and our dog came home happy and tired. Would definitely use her in the future!
So much less stress when I travel knowing that Mabel is in such good hands!
Meghan was a great caretaker of my dog. Her pup was friendly, and she lived in a walkable, neighborhood. Plus the backyard had a good amount of space.

Information Meghan B. would like to know about your pet
I'm open to any and all breeds! I only have two requirements that I try to abide by: 1.) Because I have a dog of my own, I can't take any dogs that are aggressive toward other dogs. 2.) Because I live in a shared unit and I want to be considerate of my neighbor, I can't take an excessive barker that can't be easily redirected. In addition, for extended stays (over 3 days), dogs will have to be able to tolerate some time alone so that I can get out to do basic errands, attend appointments that come up, etc.
A typical day
I have the ability to host dogs of all energy levels. Pluto loves to play with others, and the fenced-in yard provides enough room for dogs of all sizes to run around comfortably. Depending on weather, season, and the client I'll sometimes take dogs on field trips to creeks. woods, and trails outside of the city.
