I’m currently in my 2nd year of vet tech school. I worked at a general practice for 2 years and am currently and emergency veterinary technician at a 24hr animal hospital.

Having the medical background I do, watching elderly/ health conscious pets is something I love doing! I’m familiar with nearly every specific medical treatment from mega esophagus, to cushings, to diabetes and more! Not to mention, if anything in the event goes wrong or something health wise happens to your pet. I have 24hr 365 days a year access to an animal hospital & many er veterinarians.

Their age, breed, if they’re castrated, how they do with cats and other dogs. If they have any health history/ on any medications. Who your primary doctor is as well as their phone number. If in an emergency what you would like me, as the pet sitter to do. As well as how far you would go in a situation like that. What their diet is and if they have any extra additions to their food. And what they’re favorite activities are/ special traits about them!
A typical day
My apartment complex actually has a dog park included! For dogs that are social, I will go there & walk around Clinton parkway area. For not so social dogs that still need exercise, my favorite are the bike trails at Clinton Lake!

Availability
So I currently work full time, although it may sound alarming my work allows me to bring any and every pet I need to work with me! It is different but if it is something you’re comfortable with it works great. I work 4 days a week, 10 hour days. On days I don’t work I have a completely empty schedule. As well as every other weekend I have 4 days in a row off so weekend bookings are my favorite!
