The very first dog I owned and cared for was an Australian Shepherd with a pancreatic enzyme disorder who needed to be on a feed schedule with provided enzymes. I had adopted him from a family friend and he was 4 years old. He was high anxiety and got extremely nervous around strangers. After a time in my care he became somewhat better about meeting strangers through constant introduction to friends and family members. I now own a single Australian Shepherd that is not neutered and enjoy taking him to the lakes. I self groom him and have trained him on a few basic commands and leash walking, though when we go to surrounding reservoirs I let him off the leash. I also house trained him and had him since he was 3 months old, he is now 2 years old. Every so often we watch my father-in-law's senior German Short hair Pointer for a few days and he stays at our house.
