I've had dogs since before I could walk and they've all lived long, healthy lives. I currently have a 5 year old pup who LOVES to play with dogs of all shapes and sizes. I go to the dog park every weekend so you can definitely expect a tired pup when you pick up. I also bathe, brush, and clean their teeth after the park. I went to Wellington High School where I was a part of a pre-vet/pre-med program and have done a year long internship with a veterinarian. In this program we learned about animal diseases, CPR, body structure, etc. During the internship I assisted during surgeries, helped pull blood and give vaccines, administered oral meds, etc. I have two children (7 years old and 10 months old). The 7 year old loves running the dogs around and my 10 month old loves giving pets and hugs. I am versed in anxiety triggers in animals so if an animal appears tired of the children I do have a closed off area for the baby to play away from the animals and my 7 year old has no problem playing video games and watching TV.
