I am so lucky to have my critters!

Pet care experience

I have many years experience growing up in vet clinics. This means I have seen and dealt with ER situations for both cats and dogs. I am able to be flexible in my appointments and cancelations on the owners end. I am physically fit and able to do whatever activities your pet may need. I am able to lift well over 50 pounds so big dogs are not a problem for me to handle. I very much enjoy working with dogs/cats that have recurring problems at home or just need that extra time it takes for some critters to trust and love their handler. I will take whatever time it takes to make your pet happy and comfortable when they are in my care. I own cats myself and a small White German shepherd, all of which have more furniture in my house than I do! love and care for all animals, and I will put the extra time and care into watching over your furry loved ones! On a side note, I have years of experience in the Equine world and have been galloping racehorses for years now. I am happy to care for your horses or any other barn critters that are a part of your furry(sometimes not so furry) family! I am also capable of giving IM/IV injections for your horses. I worked for the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation for about 6 years. I shared responsibility with another employee of over 120 horses. I gained lots of knowledge in minor and major injuries working with that many horses. I have references and will pass along their information in person after meeting with you. Thank you all for taking the time to read about me and I do hope you consider me for your critters needs. Regards, Megan E. Reap

Could not have been happier with Megan's visits with my multitude of pets. She kept me apprised of all goings on and regularly sent pictures. Pets seem to have just loved her. Highly recommended.

Megan is wonderful! She took such good care of my older boxer while we were away. She clearly loves animals, and she is easy to work with. I will definitely use her again if the need arises.

Megan & Travis have been a Godsend to us in taking care of our fuzzy baby! They have a beautiful wide open home with more couches for the animals than for the humans! LOL I not only felt comfortable that Maverick was being well taken care of but also that he was having fun and socializing experiences with other animals. I think he has a new girlfriend in their sweet, pretty dog Kalina!! As long as they are available - I will never look elsewhere when we need to board Maverick! ❤️

Information Megan R. would like to know about your pet

I ask that owners inform me of allergies and health conditions so that I may care for your loved one as needed. I bake my own dog/cat treats and for anyone that would like to know more, I am happy to inform you of the ingredients I use. I have a soft spot for German shepherds as I grew up with them always around me. I have been called the “Crazy Cat Lady” for most of my life and I absolutely love it every time I hear it. I very much enjoy working with cats also. Please feel free to inform me (no matter how “silly” it may be) of anything you do with your pet that you would like me to continue to do for them while in my care. If I have left anyone with questions for me, feel free to ask whatever it may be.

A typical day

I live just a few miles from the Fairgrounds and my dog absolutely loves to run free and play fetch there. For owners who are comfortable with me taking your critters outside of my home to play, the Fairgrounds and also the Aurboretum on route 50 are two of mine and Kalinas favorite places to visit. I have a clean driving record with no accidents and only one speeding ticket(35 in a 25) and it was my fault for not correctly reading where the speed increase limit sign was posted. I also have a year round pass to Skyline drive so for owners who are comfortable with their critters going on hikes there, that is a great place to visit. I enjoy socializing my dog at places like the Pet Aquarium in Winchester, lots of businesses here in Berryville love when people bring their furry family members in to visit and places like Home Depot and Lowe’s are great for confidence building. Lots of new sights and noises in those stores for pups to learn from. My Kalina has that “Shepherd bark” when she hears certain noises. Lowe’s and Home Depot have really helped her to hear a noise or echo, not be able to see where it came from, but learn to trust that it’s ok because I said so. Her barking has decreased immensely the more I take her to places like those two stores. Especially at home her alert from a noise bark is so much better than she was just a year ago. I hope I have informed everyone enough for you all to be comfortable with these activities that I enjoy doing with my dog, and hopefully some day soon with your critters too! I am absolutely willing to work w critters that need some extra patience to be comfortable. It’s actually what enjoy doing the most. I gravitate towards the critters that need an extra pat on the back for reassurance. There is such a great feeling when I am able to help a critter that needs a little extra TLC. Feel free to suggest/ask me anything about this subject that you would like to know.
