Pet care experience

I have been a cat owner for over ten years, a dog owner over five. I currently own my second dog, and through experience with both, I am a well rounded dog sitter. Frankie, my first dog, was diagnosed with multiple health ailments. While she wasn’t with me for long, she did teach me a lot about caring for dogs. Thanks to her, I have experience with high needs dogs, medication, special feeding instructions, and have a good knowledge of local emergency vet centers. My current dog, Halley, is a snuggle bug, outdoor lover, and chewer of all things. So while my yard is fenced in, I know the importance of keeping an eye on our four legged friends, they can get into anything. While cats tend to be self sufficient, they still need socialization and care when their people are away from home. I am happy to provide drop in visits to take care of your cat’s needs while you are away on vacation.

Our 18 year old cat loves Megan! She is caring and efficient. Our minds are put at ease when I know he is in her hands when we are away!!

Another terrific job, Megan! It gives us peace of mind when we know our elderly kitties are in caring hands while we're away. Thank you! 😊

Safety, trust & environment

I have a large fenced in back yard to allow for zoomies and play time. I have a large crate and a large travel crate available in house if needed. All dogs will be crated when left unsupervised, so a crate is required if mine is not sufficient. Also, my dog is separated from my cats by baby gates to provide safety and security for the smaller fur friends. When I come to your house, I will follow all house rules for caring your your animals. I look forward to scheduling a meet and greet to meet your fur babies, especially if our dogs will be interacting during their care. Additionally, I would like to see where supplies are stored as well as doing a home walkthrough so I know about litter boxes, crate routine, or any specific handling instructions for your home.

Information Megan P. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know if your dog has any special needs or behaviors that I will have to take into account. A meet and greet will insure our pups get along before stays.

A typical day

I have a large fenced in yard along with plenty of waking spots near my home. If the weather is nice, we can take a walk through the neighborhood on visits. If it is too hot, a doggie pool and lots of water breaks will be given at my home. If it is too hot to safely walk your pups, We will do a quick potty break, some indoor play time, and a second potty break before I leave.

Availability

Being a teacher, August is back to school time! With this in mind, I have weeknight availability for evening drop ins, or bedtime let outs. I have more availability on weekends, but do have private clients that tend to book a month in advance. Please do not hesitate to reach out, we can see if I can fit your animals into my schedule! While I am willing to board in home, I require meet and greets with my dog to ensure a good fit. In addition, all dogs must be crate trained, with an appropriately sized crate if I do not have one suitable. When dogs are left unsupervised, I require them to be able to be crated for the safety and security of all animals present. If your animal cannot be crated, then I will be unable to board them.
