Pet care experience
*My husband is a teacher and will be off for the summer.* My husband and I live on 10 acres in Monroe. We have 4 dogs of our own, but our two bigger pups are older and spend most of their days resting in our bedroom. We have a fenced area connected to the house that has a 6ft fence. We also have a wooded area with a trail at the back of the property for little hikes. We are right off 207 and pretty much right on the way to the beach from Charlotte, so pick up and drop off should be very convenient for a beach trip. We have fostered nearly 400 dogs for various rescues in the past; both male and female, large and small, newborn to senior. We have handled many different personalities and quirks and we are very comfortable giving medications or anything else needed for a dog in our care. We are also happy to take multiple dogs if you have more than one furry family member that needs a place to stay. Our dogs are very used to other dogs coming and going and are very respectful of other dogs’ personal space while they are in our home. If your dog prefers to just relax on the couch during their stay, they will not be disturbed, but our 2 younger dogs enjoy playing if your dog is interested. We try to match sleeping arrangements as close to what the dog is used to as possible. If the dog is used to sleeping in the bedroom, they are welcome to stay in our room with us. If the guest dog is used to sleeping in a crate, we have many crates and dog beds of all sizes they are welcome to use while they are here. We are fine with small dogs used to sleeping in the bed joining us in ours. We are currently able to watch any dogs under 40lbs as long as they are good with other dogs. Exceptions can be made for calm/crate trained larger dogs. Our lab is older and has hip dysplasia, so we don’t want him to get knocked down by an energetic bigger dog. We do have a very dog savvy cat, but he has his own room so he is able to be kept separate from dogs that are not good with cats. I love taking photos of the dogs, so I am more than happy to send regular photo and video updates at your request. Please let me know if you have any questions about our home and what you can expect if you leave your dog in our care.

This was my first time using Rover and I was a little nervous about leaving my girl, Arwen, with anyone I didn’t know. We got to meet Megan and Benjamin ahead of time and all of my fears were laid to rest. They took care of my girl like she was their own and gave her lots of love. She had a minor medical issue and they took care of it. I really appreciated how they sent pictures and updates. They truly love animals. If I could give them more stars, I would. I will use them again for sure.
Megan and Ben are excellent! Avery loves staying with them and they're puppies – it is always a fun time filled with lots of play and snuggles.
Scooter loved staying at Megan’s home! He was well taken care of. Megan gave us great updates throughout his stay. Would definitely ask her to watch Scooter again!!
Megan and Benjamin are true animal lovers and such kind people. I had never left my two pugs with anyone other than family members, but as soon as I dropped them off I knew I didn’t have to worry about a thing. They treated my dogs like they were their own and gave them all the love and snuggles they would get at home! One of my dogs is nearly blind, and the other had just had a major dental extraction, but Megan and Benjamin handled their special needs with ease. The pugs are already excited for their next stay at “camp”!
