Loving Dog Mom working from home!
Pet care experience
I have loved dogs and animals of all kinds my whole life. I was lucky enough to grow up with dogs (Golden Retrievers), cats (adopted strays), a few birds, some hamsters, and fish. My previous two companions were Australian Cattle Dogs, adopted from local shelters. They are very intelligent, fiercely loyal, and high energy. Intense dogs! But they were so, so special. My current doggo is an American Staffordshire Terrier. She is also a rescue, as she showed up at my front door one morning and (thankfully) never left. She is a very well-loved and treasured member of our family. That’s the way should dogs be treated, and how your dog will be treated when they are here. Like family. Dogs give so much and ask for nothing (well, maybe some bacon) in return. They are so pure hearted! I am experienced with many different breeds and personality types. I regularly dog-sit for neighbors, friends and family and I thought Rover would be a great way to meet other folks in need of dog care. I know that when I am away from home that finding someone to care for my dog is the most stressful thing! I would be honored to take care of your family member like they are my own.
Reviews
Megan was great with our anxious and energetic senior dog. She had a good strategy for helping him settle in, and made sure he got plenty of exercise. He also tends to eat stray socks and Megan took this seriously and asked good questions to be sure he didn't have access to tempting items. Our pup was happy and relaxed when we picked him up, and we'll definitely use Megan again in the future!
Such a great experience. Thanks again!
If you have a sassy high energy cattle dog, Megan is your girl! She took great care of our pup. He got plenty of outside time and loved playing with her dog Maisie. Leaving him with Megan gave us the peace of mind everyone wants when they have to go out of town for a few days. I’m so thankful that I met her and that I have someone I can trust near by to take care of my dog while I’m gone.
Megan took fantastic care of Tucker. He got plenty of exercise and cuddles, and he loved playing with Maisie and the family. Thank you so much for taking special care of my boy!

Dogs are not allowed on furniture in my home. I have a fenced in yard, and a friendly pup at home who can keeps yours company. If you have a dog who prefers not to keep the company of other dogs, that's okay too! My home is set up to accommodate dogs who might prefer their own space. I am experienced with handling dogs with diverse temperaments, and I understand that not all dogs will get along and it’s important to not force interactions. For your animals safety they will be kenneled or restricted to the kitchen while I am gone (not often, and not for long).

Information Megan K. would like to know about your pet
What words/commands does your dog respond to? Is your dog crate trained? Has your dog exhibited any signs of separation anxiety? Does your dog have any medical issues, including allergies? Medications? Any specific dietary requirements? Your preferred emergency vet care provider? Is your dog up to date on their vaccinations? Is your dog on flea and tick preventative? Is your dog on heartworm preventative? I do have experience working with challenging dogs, and I am willing to do so. However, I need to know, in detail, about any issues beforehand, so that I can be prepared. Does your dog have any behavioral issues?
A typical day
We start our days with walks and play time in the morning, then a little lounging and napping when I usually do some work. Depending on the weather we get more outside time in the afternoon, and again in the evening after dinner when we play in the yard or take a walk!

Availability
I work from home and am available for boarding and day care most of the time. My schedule throughout the day at home is very flexible and allows me ample time for lot's of love and one-on-one attention to your doggo! We have a lovely neighborhood to take walks in and I also have a large yard that allows for lot's of outside play time. When it's hot in the summer I will get out the kiddie pool and let the dogs splash!
