We hired Megan to house sit for us for a week while we were out of town. In the initial interview, she offered to go outside of the Rover website advising that she would charge less than the Rover amount if we wouldn't book through them. We declined and should have realized at that point there was a potential integrity issue. After we were already gone, she texted advising she would like to have her husband stay at our home as well. Her husband didn't pass the Rover background check and our dog doesn't like men. We advised her of this in our initial meeting as well as that we did not want anyone else coming to the house. Because we were already out of town, we didn't feel as though we had a choice but to allow it at that point. She was 3 hours late the first night, arriving after dark which caused problems getting the dog settled. We left written instructions which she did not read or follow. On the second day, she showed up on time and sent us pictures of the dog and cat. We thought everything was fine but we have a home security system and realized she left an hour after arriving. She locked our dog in a small cage in the house unattended even though she charged us to stay at the house. When we texted her about it she said, "my dog was acting weird so I left but I'll go back in the morning and let your dog out". We had to get a friend to go to our house at 11pm to let the dog out and then make arrangements for someone to stay at the house for the rest of the week. Rover was of no assistance at all with this. We would not recommend Rover and would definitely not recommend Megan.

Our two dogs were content and ready for us. Harley was extremely calm for the first 24 hours or so. We are very pleased.
