Pet care experience
Hi I’m Megan! I am a college student majoring in animal science so I absolutely love spending time with pets and I know lots about animal needs! I have experience with a variety of animals as I have owned dogs, cats, bunnies, fish, Guinea pigs, cows, chickens, and more! I interned at a vets office in high school and during the summer. I have also worked with sled dogs (Siberian huskies) for the last year and did much of the care for them including feeding, picking up poop, bathing, and tons of handling. I recently have had experience raising a puppy and caring for a senior dog, and loved both. Specifics for what you want for your pet are always appreciated!

I live in a fairly large apartment in an area of Burlington without a lot of traffic. I live close to a park where I often see dogs running around, chasing balls etc. I have gained a lot of experience through dog sitting and I am always open to listening to your needs and expectations for how you want your pet to be cared for. I know how much love we all have for our pets so I make sure they feel loved while you’re away, and will keep you updated with lots of pictures and videos!

I appreciate knowing how much exercise they typically get in a day so that they can stick to their routine. It is also important to know if they need to be in a kennel while left home alone or if they are fine to roam the house. I do have a kennel at my apartment that will work for small and medium sized dogs if that is something they need. If they have any silly quirks or other needs such as allergies or preferences I would love to know that, too!
A typical day
I love to go for long walks or runs, I live near a park where we can play fetch and get lots of the exercise. I enjoy changing the scenery on walks and I always let them sniff and explore. I also love to snuggle and (if it’s okay with you) your pet would be allowed on all the furniture to snuggle and sleep.

Availability
Whenever I have a pet in my care they become my best friend. I am a college student and home for the majority of the day so they will get all the care and love they need. This semester I am lucky to only have morning classes so they would never be left alone for long. Over the summer I will be living in Burlington and only working a few days a week. I love to go for long walks and being able to do it with a dog makes it so much better!
