Pet care experience
I have been taking care of animals big and small all my life. I grew up with dogs, cats and even smaller animals like birds, snakes, and bunnies. It has always been a passion of mine to care for animals. I volunteered at helping hands for four years and have taken advantage of any chance I have gotten to care for friends and family’s animals.

I personally own my own dog named Reese’s. She is an Australian Shepherd and is 7 months old. I treat her like my baby and always make sure I give her plenty of time outside, all the toys she could dream of, and always am looking for ways to keep her as healthy as possible. I will do the same for every client I work for. I work to be sure that both the client and the animal I care for is happy with my services. I always focus on working with positive reinforcement and make sure to keep treats on me that are healthy for dogs in order to encourage this good behavior.

Information I appreciate knowing before I take care of a dog are what tricks they are learning so that I can also help reinforce those behaviors you are wanting them to learn. Knowing any challenges they have such as being nippy, at all aggressive, or very shy. This helps me know how to approach the dog better and be prepared for things. I also will need to know any medication they need if you would like me to distribute them.
A typical day
When I am watching and caring for a dog I love to find ways to activate their mind by practicing tricks with them, playing games like fetch, and taking them to fun new places they haven’t seen so they can experience new smells and environments.

Taking care of animals has been in my daily life since I lived on a ranch where I was responsible for taking cards of dogs, cats, and horses. I made sure they had all they needed and get the attention they deserve and made sure they are happy and healthy.
