Local and loving pet care

Pet care experience

Welcome, I’m so glad you have found yourself here ☺️ As a therapist by day, I am able to care for your fur babes with patience, compassion and understanding. From learning and understanding animal behavior, I am confident that I am trust worthy with anxious and fearful fur babies. I am comfortable with nervous cats that require patience. I am also comfortable with reactive and high energy doggos and being able to accommodate your needs. When caring for your fur babe, I like to provide lots of cute photos and I am super detail oriented each visit. I love to learn on how to best care for your pet (s), so feedback is super helpful. During a meet and greet I will learn how to best care for your fur babe and how I can best accommodate any specific needs! As a pet parent myself, I look forward to being able to be a trustworthy, flexible and reliable person to best care for your animal(s) while you’re away. I’ve had experience with dog walks with a variety of different breeds and personalities. To name a few frenchies, goldens, grey hounds, reactive doggos, Aussies, border collies, st Bernard, pitbulls, Dalmatians. I feel super capable to be able to manage and care for any type of dog. I myself have two dogs. One Aussie dalmatian that is two years year old and a rescue pitbull German Shepard that is 1 years old. I have experienced training dogs to be able to sit, crate train, paw, leave it commands, stay commands. My own Aussie Dalmatian is a hyper and high energy and I have learned to leash train her as well as off leash at the beach. I have experienced walking reactive dogs that need more patience, redirection of behavior and training in real time. My two dogs play all the time so I am understanding of healthy play between two dogs and when to use the command “quit”. That’s the command I use to break up and give space for a few minutes before going back to play. I have experience bathing dogs, cutting my own dogs hair. I have experience with cat and dog interaction and recognizing safe and unsafe behaviors between the two different types of animals. I have experience with herding and hunting behaviors toward cats, so I am comfortable with training dogs around my own cats. My four cats love and are unafraid doggos and are able to be caring toward dogs that might be afraid of cats. Mainly because they are all obsessed with my two dogs themselves! For cat parents! I have 4 cats, I am comfortable with feeding wild little animals while they want food. I have also watched others cats that take longer to warm up. I am patient and quiet while the cat gets used to me being around. I respect their boundaries if they are a timid cat and I’ll make note of that during cat visits. I’ve administered shots and pills to both cats and dogs. All around, I am an animal lover and have done so much research into animal behaviors and training of my own dogs that I feel trustworthy in being able to watch your animals! I have a safe space in the home for just cats if needed while caring for your fur baby. I also am open to watching cats and checking in. I am comfortable with all medical needs. I have administered shots for both cats and dogs.

Megan is the absolute best! She’s my animal nanny. She cared and loved my four pets (two kittens) for a month while I was in Asia. Perfect daily communication with many pics. My babes were loved as her own. My home is immaculate. Ready for unplanned vet visit. I sorta hate leaving such a great review cause you’ll all scoop her. Guess I’ll need to plan well in advance.

Information Megan C. would like to know about your pet

Let me know of any special needs. Please also let me know if your dog has any concerning behaviors that you can manage, but fear others handling. I feel comfortable and confident with reactive and dogs that require more patience. I feel comfortable with rescues, high energy and bored dogs. I feel comfortable watching cats that are nervous and scared and need more patience to be cared for ! I feel comfortable administering meds. I feel comfortable being patient and ensuring a doggo eats all their meals. Growing up i had a dog that required insulin for diabetes at meal time. I am absolutely comfortable giving shots for those needs. I have also given multiple Zyrtecs or other pills to my own dogs for daycare/vet. I would like to know the feeding routine/amount, are they crate trained, energy level, how are they with other dogs and cats?

A typical day

I love to do enrichment activities! Go on walks with them, play catch, pull a rope. I’m comfortable with going to low key dog parks, fenced in areas that do not have other pets in them to run around or dog parks you feel comfortable with. I feel comfortable giving them mind enrichment puzzles or kongs or bones! If they’re protective I know how to manage getting a bone away or working with protective behaviors with dogs. Caring for cats I love to respect their boundaries, if they like to play I love to give them playtime! I like to give them all the pets and boops that they want. I am comfortable with shy cats and I have learned to just quietly sit/lay on the ground for them to realize I am a safe human. I typically do not engage and give them their own time to want to engage! I will always respect your pets boundaries and I do know the signs of fear/anxiety so I am mindful of that.

I’m currently working virtual. I’m a therapist and some sessions are in person, some are virtual. I go in office on Wednesday for a few hours. I’m home for the remainder of the time and am readily available for drop ins/walks. I have the flexibility to work virtual if I am caring for an animal in home as well! Drop ins/walks! Always welcome and I love to do a meet and greet to learn more about how to care and love your pet(s). This ensures we are a good fit. I am also comfortable doing last minute bookings with little to no notice ◡̈ For house sitting: I am comfortable with caring for your babies in the comfort of their environment! I have house sat for cats, big and small doggos. I have cared for animals that are blind, need medications etc. Please do specify if you’re looking for all around care and I can let you know if I am available. Although to note- I typically need flexibility and I am unable to do all around care. 1-2 hours is not long enough for flexibility, I need to be able to come and go due to caring for other animals in the community! Also! Super important - please do include all pets on the property for liability for both your fur babies and for myself during a house sit, as that is required for safety under the Rover Guarentee.
