Your Dog's Home Away From Home
Pet care experience
After so many years of having unconditional love for all the great dogs in the world, including our own, we joined the Rover team in early 2023 so we could make ourselves available to meet and take care of your furry loved one(s)! We have a 5-year-old beagle named Duke (a humane society rescue from NC), and he gets along well with all other dogs (and people!) Before that, we had another beagle for 8 years, who lived to be 14 before passing from lymphoma last December (that's Artie in our main profile pic). We want to be the "home away from home" for your pups where they get all the walks, cuddles, and treats you'll allow. We have experience caring for senior dogs, dogs recovering from surgery, and dogs with separation anxiety issues. We both work from home full-time so we can give your dog(s) all the attention they deserve and accommodate just about any walk/meal schedule. We live near Forest Park if they like long walks, or we're happy to keep it local if they are less active. We live in a spacious apartment, so zoomies are both possible and welcome. We're also on the 2nd floor at the top of a flight of stairs, so while you may want a meet and greet if you're not sure your dog will be okay with that, it can also provide a fun burst of exercise energy when coming home from a walk.
Reviews

My wife and I were always extremely skeptical about who we’d leave our dogs with. Until we met Megan, Brian, and their Beagle Duke! From the moment we met them they were very kind, friendly, & loving. Any question I had for them they were very quick to respond as well as updating us with many photos of the boys daily. We had absolutely no worries about Montego & Mamba. If you’re looking for someone to take care of your fur babies the way you do then look no further! They are THE BEST.

I’ve had the pleasure of leaving my dog, Penny, in the care of this amazing couple on more than one occasion, and I truly can’t recommend them enough. They treated her like part of their family, along with their sweet dog, Duke, and made sure she felt safe, loved, and entertained while I was away. Each time, they sent photo updates regularly and shared how she was doing, which gave me so much peace of mind. It’s clear how much they care about animals and go the extra mile to make sure your pup is happy and comfortable. Penny always comes home calm and content, a sign to me that she’s had a great stay. If you’re looking for reliable, thoughtful, and genuinely loving dog sitters, look no further. Penny and I are so lucky to have found them! They are for sure our go to doggy sitters furever!!

A Million thanks to Megan, Brian & Duke for welcoming Mia into your home and of course being awesome sitters! Thank you for your love, patience and communication. We truly appreciate ya’ll 🫶🏽 hope to see you soon!

Megan and Brian were awesome! Russell loved them and they loved Russell. Couldn’t have asked for better dog sitters.

We live in a spacious apartment, and we can accommodate most walking/eating schedules since we both work from home. We are on the 2nd floor, so there is a flight of stairs, but we can carry your pup if they require it and are okay with it. Your dog is more than welcome to relax on our futon, recliner, or bed, and we have plenty of pillows and blankets (+ 2 doggie beds our Duke rarely uses).

Information Megan & Brian L. would like to know about your pet
1) All dogs must be spayed/neutered and up to date on vaccines! Let us know if your dog has any special needs, allergies, or unusual behaviors around other dogs so that we can ensure a stress-free and loving experience for your pups. Unfortunately, if your dog has any aggressive (toward other dogs or people) or destructive tendencies, we won't be able to accommodate. 2) We have some experience administering some oral medications and eye drops on a strict schedule, but we're open to meeting any other needs so long as we have clear instructions and you're comfortable with it. 3) Please let us know the most comfortable sleeping arrangements for your dog. (Do they prefer their bed, or do they sleep in bed with you? Our king size mattress can accommodate the 2 of us + our Duke + up to 2 smaller dogs... We regularly watch a pair of beagles who sleep very comfortably right next to us!) 4) Does your dog get car sick? It's always great if they can join us (and Duke!) for an errand, just as another activity to make them feel included and stimulate them. But if that's not possible, we are and always have been 100% committed to one or both of us always being at home during the stay. We will never leave your dog alone for any length of time unless you explicitly assure us that it's fine (and even then, we still prefer not to).
A typical day
We have an assortment of dog toys if your pup is playful, and we can enjoy long walks in Forest Park if permitted. Or if your dog less active, we can enjoy shorter walks in the neighborhood and lounge at home to their heart's content. Typically we will take your dog out 4 times a day on the same schedule as our Duke (longer walks after breakfast and dinner, shorter walks mid-day and right before bed), but can be flexible if it's required more often (or the opposite). We do our best to match your dog's energy, so play time is always welcome whenever they approach us for it, and on the other hand if they prefer to sleep all day, they'll always have a lap to cuddle up next to.
