Megan seemed nice at first during the meet and greet with my mom and dog, Akela - a three year old husky. During the meeting, she was happy with Akela and kept saying he’s so sweet. She has a cat, but she stated she kept it upstairs and dogs are not allowed upstairs. My mom was upfront and told her Akela isn’t neutered and we haven’t had any issues with it. We haven’t had any problems or complaints with other sitters and he’s never interacted with a cat. She said she’s willing to try it out. We asked her to babysit on Saturday, March 23rd because we had guests arriving and one of them is scared of dogs. I dropped him off 1ish pm and told her I’ll get him at 10 or 10:30pm. She called close to 4pm. She spoke to both me and my mom, said come pick up your dog right now repeatedly in a rude manner and stated it’s not working out, and that he was fighting with another small dog she’s sitting, didn’t get along with her cat, didn’t listen to commands and dragged her while walking him. My mom was trying to explain that the guests are coming in half an hour and we have no other options. Megan kept interrupting and stated it’s not my problem and to come pick up your dog. At the end of the call, she said I’m going to hang up and that was that. I went and picked up Akela and we had to cancel our plans that we’ve been planning for quite some time. I understand that if she felt like it wasn’t a good fit, she should’ve just separated the pets for the remainder of the day and made no plans to babysit him again in the future as was paid for this service and she committed to babysitting him for the day. This would be a good form of customer service. It seems like she can only handle small dogs and is physically incapable of handling large dogs. She was very rude on the phone, dismissive and the plans for the day were completely ruined. I also wanted to note that Akela was not himself after coming home until today. He’s very listless, quiet, didn’t want to eat, and hasn’t even gotten up to greet us when we left and came back home later in the day. Not exactly sure what could’ve happened to make him this way.
