I am currently a student at Iowa State University studying Animal Ecology: Pre-veterinary medicine and biology. I am set to graduate in May, and then apply to vet schools. Being a vet has been my dream since I was 10 and I’m finally pursuing it. I believe I am qualified for this position because I have taken several courses in animal behavior and animal care, I have volunteered at the humane society for three summers, I own three dogs myself, and I have worked at a doggy daycare/ boarding facility where I was trained how to care for animals and precautions to take when working with other's dogs. At the daycare and humane society I was walking dogs, playing with dogs, and cleaning cages. I also fed and medicated dogs based upon owners requests. In my courses I have handled several different species of animals and learned all about behavior. Throughout my life I have personally owned several animals, all being inside pets. I walk my personal dogs daily and they are all well trained and taken care of.
