Pet care experience
Hi there! My name is Meg. I have experience with dogs of all kinds: puppies, seniors, special needs, shy, outgoing, reactive, couch potatoes, you name it. I also have years of cat experience! Check out my cat care details! I have 2 dogs of my own who came to me nervous and shy. I’ve worked around the clock with them and now they are confident and thriving! In 2021 I adopted a deaf, special needs senior pup who struggled with dementia and arthritis, and required multiple medications a day. I happily carried all 60 lbs of him up and down my porch stairs for his frequent potty breaks. He passed that Christmas but was the most amazing experience of my life. Senior pets have a special place in my heart! I have experience with muzzles and crates, prong collars and e-collars. I’m happy to work with your training tools, methods, and beliefs to ensure your pup doesn't fall out of their routine. Please note that as of 4/9/2024 my boarding client requirements have changed: I no longer accept any intact pets, or dogs with the habit of mounting other dogs, or dogs who are not crate trained. All dogs must be capable of remaining calm inside the crate. If your dog shows any signs of distress, such as attempting to break out, excessive pacing and/or panting, chewing on the crate, or incessant barking and/or whining, I will call for immediate pick-up and terminate the booking. My home is a judgement-free zone but this new rule is entirely for your dog's wellbeing. I appreciate your honesty about your dog's habits and behavior. This transparency ensures my home is the safest environment for both my pets and yours. If you've booked with me in the past, you've been grandfathered in and this crate rule does not apply to your dog.
Reviews
Meg is at all times in tune with each of the animals in her care.
Meg was great and could accommodate all of our dogs weird quirks! Unfortunately our dog and Meg’s dogs did not get along or we would definitely be using her services again.
Meg is incredibly professional! She is responsive, timely, responsible, conscientious, kind, and flexible. She's also very knowledgeable about dog behavior and is invested in discussing your preferences as a dog owner to make sure your dog is the most comfortable while in her care. We've used her services twice and are on the calendar for future walks and boarding. We feel lucky to have found her!
This was the second time our pup stayed with Meg, and things couldn’t have gone better! We got great pictures and updates daily, and in every one it was clear our dog was happy and well taken care of. I’d recommend Meg to anyone, anytime!

My house is divided up by baby gates because I have dogs get to know each other through the gates so everyone can go at their own pace. I keep dogs separated this way for at least the first 48 hours to give them time and space to settle in, and to ease any nerves of a new environment. I only allow the dogs to directly interact after those 48 hours if I feel their body language communicates that they are comfortable and ready. Every dog has a different set of boundaries and I want to make sure every dog is set up for success. I share my home with my fiancé so you get 2 pairs of eyes for the price of 1! He has experience with dogs fearful of men; He knows the correct body language to use and how to gain a fearful dog’s trust. For new client boarding stays 2 nights or more, I require a sleepover trial to make sure your dog and our home are a good fit. These trials also help ease any potential nerves your dog may have on their first night. 1. They'll know that you're coming back for them and 2. Scent is everything to a dog when meeting a new person or environment. This trial will allow them to become familiar with the scents of the house. With familiarity comes comfort!

Information Meg C. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know any behavioral concerns you may have about your dog. My house is a judgement-free zone. Anything I can do to assure you that we are a good fit, please give me as many details as possible. If your dog has a habit of mounting other dogs, I unfortunately cannot accept the booking. Thank you for your honesty about your dog's behavior, this transparency ensures my home is the safest environment for both my pets and yours. Please provide the following at boarding drop-off: • Any items you use at home with your dog such as a crate, harness, leash, muzzle, etc. • Enough food for your pet’s entire stay, along with feeding instructions. • Any necessary medications and/or supplements, along with administration instructions. Please have these items clearly marked with your dog's name. • Anything that helps your dog take their medication, such as peanut butter, pill pockets, etc. Please have these items clearly marked with your dog's name.
A typical day
Your pup and I can play fetch in our 1700 sq. ft. fenced-in yard and get those zoomies going. We are not worried about our grass, tear it up! If your dog is just more into chill walks, I have a great neighborhood with slow drivers, lots of safe sidewalks, friendly neighbors, and lots of good sniffing spots. I also know a bunch of good hiking trails a few minutes away! I applaud any dog with great recall and socialization, however for safety purposes, I do not take guest dogs anywhere off leash or to dog parks. Thank you for understanding!

Availability
I work full-time but I come home every day at lunch for 1 hour to check in on my dogs, let them outside, and just give them some mid-day snuggles. Your pup would get the same loving treatment! I am available for walks during the week any time after 4:30PM and all day Saturday & Sunday. Starting in June I will be available after 3:30PM during the week and all day on Friday-Sunday.
