Dogs always allowed on furniture (:

Pet care experience

It’s truly a privilege to be trusted with your fur baby! My husband Eric and I are dog lovers. We started doing Rover after we rescued a 15 year old dog with hind leg paralysis whose elderly owner had to enter a care facility. We only got to love on her for a year before she passed of chronic liver failure, but she was so sweet and grateful and it brought her former owner so much peace, it meant the world to us. We knew we could give so many more dogs love and care and a place to feel comfortable when their owners couldn’t take them along, but we weren’t quite ready for the heartbreak of losing another rescue. So, we decided to try rover so we could care for dogs on a short-term basis. We know that it can be confusing and a little nerve wracking for dogs to be away from their people, so we truly treat them like one of our own and welcome them into the pack. It makes us genuinely happy to see your pets feeling at home in our home, lounging on the couch or playing in the yard. I had my senior (crossed the rainbow bridge at almost 18 years old) since he was a puppy. In his old age he difficulties like doggie dementia, missing teeth, arthritis, poor vision, and accidents. All these special needs have helped me to become the most patient and attentive dog caregiver possible. Our young dog Rosie struggles with separation anxiety. Their distinct challenges make me confident that I can care for and accommodate any dog, regardless of their unique needs.

Meg was fantastic and Honey had a great time. She provided me with timely updates and photos of Honey during his stay. I would certainly recommend Meg.

I can't thank Meg enough for all the fun my dog Olive had at her house. Meg and Eric kept us in the loop while we were away and were both so great with Olive. They have two sweet dogs who got along great with our pup. They took all three dogs hiking together! Will definitely book with Meg again!

Oh my gosh, best Rover sitters ever!! They accommodated Kirby and Galinda last minute. Kirby usually has some separation anxiety, but he settled in and had a great time! They both were so chill and comfortable when I picked them up!! Meg sent so many awesome pictures and a video and I loved getting them! Meg and Eric even gave Kirby and Galinda food when they wound up staying later than I had planned for. I wish I didn’t live out of state so I could use Meg and Eric more often!!!

Eric & Meg, we can’t thank you enough. As new pet owners we needed a night away to recharge! Bluey was happy to see us, but hopped out of the car and ran back to you door, so that will tell you how much he enjoyed his stay. For those looking to leave their fur babies with someone that will take care of them as if they were their own look no further! I’m sure Bluey can’t wait to be back on the 19th and I can rest easy knowing he’s in good hands!

Safety, trust & environment

We have a large backyard abutting a land conservation area at the end of a dead end street. Our home is 2 stories but gates and doors keep dogs on the first floor where we can see and hear them at all times. The master bedroom is also on the first floor, so the pups stay within eye and earshot all day and night. And no stairs, so we can easily accommodate dogs with any mobility issues. We also have an outdoor shower and a bathtub in our first floor bathroom, which makes for easy cleanup for messy pups any time of year. Our dogs are extremely friendly and well socialized. They are accustomed to being around all different breeds and sizes of dogs. There are dog beds and dog blankies throughout my home, as well as hammocks and a doggie pool in the yard. Tons of dog toys and chew toys. There is always a place for a pup to find a comfy spot or something fun to do. Our dogs do not use a leash in the yard but dog safety is very important to us and we can have your pup play on the long run line or leash them before going out. Along with the dog beds of all sizes all over the house, dogs are always welcome on the furniture here!

Information Meg B. would like to know about your pet

I will rely on your representation that your dog is friendly and does not exhibit aggressive behavior. I will also rely on larger dog owners to let me know their dog is alright being around smaller breed dogs. My pups and I will welcome them into our home right into our normal routine. Please let me know your dogs feeding schedule and whether they have any known allergies. I feed my dogs a raw diet and your dog is welcome to eat that food with them if that’s alright with you. For extended stays I would just ask that you please discuss with me ahead of time whether you will send food for their stay and I will adjust pricing accordingly.

A typical day

Depending on you and your dog’s preferences, we will make sure their exercise needs are met! We can walk around my neighborhood in long or shorter loops, or let the dogs get their zoomies out playing chase in the yard. If it’s a weekend, we can go for a hike or a swim at the beach. In the house, I will make sure they have a comfy spot to relax and access to plenty of different toys.

Availability

Although I am back to working in an office during the week, my husband is home during the day. He stays out in the yard with our pups for hours every day, watching them and letting them play. On weekends, we have a blast spending time with our dogs going on hikes, going to the beach, or hanging in the yard. Although our dogs would rather hang in the yard than go on walks, we do take them on at least an evening walk every day. We have plenty of availability to have an extra dog (or more!) join us for snuggles and playtime. Someone is always home so I can be flexible and open to pick up and drop-off times that work well for you. I will make sure your dog feels right at home while you are away, and when you return they will greet you with a happy face and wagging tail. And they will sleep like a rock!
