Experienced veterinary technician

Pet care experience

My name is Meagan and I'm a veterinary nurse at an ER speciality hospital that's been in the field since 2012. I've been pet and house sitting for clients, coworkers, and doctors for many years. My goal is to make your pet feel as comfortable as possible, and I will do everything I can to maintain their routine because, in my experience, that is what helps your pet feel the most at ease while you are away. I'm trained in veterinary first aid in case of an emergency. I feel comfortable administer all medications (I do it for a living!). That includes oral medications as well as injections and subcutaneous fluids. I've watched all breeds and sizes of dogs, from chihuahuas to french bulldogs to pitbulls to german shepherds. I also like to send pictures and videos of your dog via snapchat or text; I feel like that helps connect you with your loved one while you’re away! My typical schedule: *I work roughly 10 hour days Monday-Thursday. Occasionally, I work Fridays but that is rare. *Dog training class Tuesday and Wednesday 6-9:30pm. I also have class Sundays, 11-3pm. *I can let dogs out in the middle of the day if you live in the Redmond/Woodinville/Bellevue/Kirkland area. I like to be upfront about expectations of my schedule flexibility. I do work a full time job at a vet hospital; I pet sit on the side because I enjoy it. If I don’t think I am the right fit for you and your family, I will always tell you that. My goal is for both sides to be happy with the plan!

We were very glad to have found Meagan to be our furry babysitter while we were on vacation. With her knowledge as a vet tech, I find it much more comforting to leave my 6 fur babies (including one that is going to be 19yo this October) in her care. Seriously starting to consider taking vacation depending on her availability. LOL

Thanks Meagan! Seeing the pictures as you spend time with our dog are great ways for us to stay in touch. When we come home Finn always seems like he's had a grand time with his dog Sitter. Thanks for keeping the house clean and making our dog feel relaxed while we are away. Great dog sitter.

Whenever my dog is with Meagan, I can relax and enjoy my trip knowing my dog is in very capable hands. Her dedication, knowledge, and love for dogs is incomparable.

Information Meagan R. would like to know about your pet

I want to know their schedule, their favorite toys and games, and any quirks they have. I want to know what they are/are not allowed to do, any behavioral issues or triggers, and how you approach these issues if there are any. I believe honesty is best on both sides of the situation, so if your dog has any issue, tell me so we can figure out a way to work through it while you're gone and even moving forward into their future. I don't believe in breed descrimination, but I'm partial to northern and exceptionally fluffy breeds (huskies, akitas, shiba inus, great pyrenees, pomeranians). I can appreciate an independant dog (shiba inus, akitas) but some of my favorite pets are the perfect cuddlers (vizslas, pitties, hounds).

A typical day

I usually will only walk pets around the neighborhood. I don’t frequent the dog park, and prefer to stay closer to home with pets on a leash.
