Pet care experience
Hello! I've cared for and been around animals my entire life. Growing up on a farm with dogs, cats, horses, and more, I truly enjoy caring for animals. I grew up with small and large dogs, including a large energetic rescue dog who pulls hard on walks, and other timid rescue dogs and cats. I share a strong 120-lb dog with my fiancé, so no dog is too big. I've also cared for animals with medically complex needs and can give injections and medications by mouth. I feel comfortable caring for animals requiring potty training or other special care. No animal is too difficult, and I'm happy to provide excellent care for all. Neighbors, relatives, and colleagues have relied on me for overnight in-house boarding and multiple-week care. I'm open to early morning, mid-day, or evening commitments. A little about me. I'm a medical student in my final year of training, which means I have more time on my hands than I know what to do with. I'm an avid runner, cyclist, hiker, and am currently training for the LA Marathon. So if you're someone who would like your dog to go on runs, I can help with that too! I love learning about the quirks of pets, and I will prioritize your animal's care and ensure their safety and well-being. I look forward to meeting your little (and big) furry loved ones!
Reviews
McKayla has been our primary sitter for our 60 lb Pitbull for years now - and we have been spoiled having her. First, McKayla is amazing with our dog. Before McKayla we weren’t sure we would be able to find someone we could trust to watch our dog - she’s super sweet and lovable but is leash-reactive, has anxiety issues, and needs to be pilled twice a day (she won’t take her pills with food). McKayla handles her like a pro. Our dog is always happy and relaxed whenever we get home - a sign of how well McKayla took care of her. Second, McKayla is everything you want from someone staying in your house. She’s great at communication - keeping us up to date on how things are going and letting us know if there’s anything we should be aware of. She’s super reliable - always shows up when she says she will, keeps the house even cleaner than when we left it. Overall, McKayla is an amazing dog sitter. If she can handle our dog with grace and confidence I have no doubt she’d be amazing with anyone’s dog.
McKayla was wonderful with my large new rescue labradoodle pup and my six-year-old poodle mutt. It was our first time leaving the new puppy home, and McKayla made it a relaxing experience. I can hardly wait to use her again.
McKayla has been a dog and house sitter for us for several years. There is truly no one better! We have a large pittie who is sweet but overly exuberant with greetings and is dog (and squirrel…) reactive on walks. She needs an attentive and experienced handler and McKayla more than fits that bill. Our pup also has health issues requiring meds and McKayla is comfortable pilling her which not everyone is. She is trustworthy, timely, reliable, and communicative. I can’t recommend her highly enough.
McKayla is an exceptional person who is caring, motivated, organized, and clean. She is a very active person who would be willing to do what is best for your pet, whether it is walking, running, or whatever else is requested. I have observed her interactions with dogs, cats, etc. and they all adore her; I'd fully entrust her with any of my pets knowing that she's going to give them the best care/affection they deserve.

Information Mckayla P. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know if your pet has food allergies or special needs/attention/triggers on walks. Additionally, if there is anything you'd like me to keep in mind to prevent reactivity and have more enjoyable walks. I usually carry treats, so let me know if that is okay for your dog.

Long and short walks, games, playtime, cuddle time, and more! I can tailor my care, walks, and feedings to meet your pet's needs and your preferences.
