Fur-babies are family too!
Pet care experience
[On Short Break for College Finals/Semester Ends May 10th] Hello! My name is McKayla and I believe fur-babies are just as important as any other family member in the house in ;growing up I wanted to be a zoologist or veterinarian, and although my ambitions have changed, zoology is still a favorite topic of mine. I am a Psych Student at UTPB on a Full-Ride to get my Masters in Clinical Psych. I also have my CNA (Certified Nurse Aid and worked at Midland Memorial for a bit as one; So I perfectly understand that bodily fluids are essential to any healthy animal and am not afraid for when the need for this care arises. I have a bubbly but also calm demeanor so I can play or relax with your critter for their needs as needed :). I also am CPR/BLS, crisis intervention, and mental health first aid certified, so I have training for a variety of emergency situations. I look forward to meeting you and your critters!
Reviews
I took a really short weekend trip to visit my family. McKayla took care of my three dogs like a champ, and made every effort to make sure I came back to a clean apartment and well-loved dogs. I'm grateful for the attention to instructions, communication throughout, and not shying away from one of my dogs having a messy accident on the carpet.
so helpful! took great care of my animals and was very responsive
McKayla was great! We would use her again. She was very informative and took great care of our dogs and house.
McKayla did an awesome job with my pups!! They loved her from the start! She put in an excellent effort to comfort them while we were gone!

First thing, something that Ive also been taught in the medical field, Safety First. Although it’s an extremely common phrase, if safety of the client, property, or me, the sitter, is ever at risk, I do not hesitate to take initiative and action to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone and everything around me. Working in the E.R. and medical has taught me how to properly manage and take control of a crisis situation and make sure everyone gets to go home safely by the end of the day.
Information McKayla D. would like to know about your pet
Please tell me know ahead of time of any unique needs or your pets may need, especially if they pertain to the safety and well-being of your pet or me. Please do not be afraid to shoot me a message at anytime if you have any concerns and I’ll get back as soon as I can I’m very patient and am open to learning, each pup or kitty is their own unique animal with their own unique needs and personalities. I look forward to meeting you and your pups and kitties! :D
A typical day
I’m typically early to sleep/early to rise so I love getting up in the morning to go outside in to feel the sun and let the dogs run around for a bit and potty. If they eat breakfast I refill their water and provide the food. During any time in the day if the moment calls for it, I play with them for enrichment :D, for small dogs I get down and the ground on their level and play with them there. Whenever the dogs need to go outside I let them out as-well as any other needs that may arise. Towards the end of the day I typically wind down and I turn most of the lights to help with mine and the dogs circadian rhythm’s to help us wind down for sleep.
