Pet care experience
My family has had dogs since before I was born and for as long as I can remember, I have had dogs in my life. I currently own one loving golden retriever at home and two sweet kitties. I am used to handling and looking after large dog breeds and cats but I have experience working with all domestic animals. I have worked as a veterinary assistant at a small animal clinic the last three years and I am now spending the summer in Hawaii before I begin veterinary school in the Fall. I am comfortable looking after any size, breed or age of dog and I am willing to brush, walk, play or do anything that makes your dog/dogs happy. I am also very comfortable taking care of cats, birds, reptiles and other pocket pets!

I am happy to work with you and your pets’ needs. If you have a fenced in yard and would just like someone to let your pup out for a potty break and to play for awhile, I am happy to do so. I am also very willing to take your dog for walks if that is a better way to give them a break and burn some energy. For kitties, I am very happy to offer playtime breaks during the day if you have a very active feline.

If your dog has any behavioral difficulties, either with people or other dogs. I have had experience with my own dog who was aggressive towards other dogs, and I am comfortable dealing with dogs that have certain behavioral problems. Also working at a veterinary clinic I have had exposure to a very wide range of behavioral difficulties in dogs and cats and I comfortable working with most cases as long as I am made aware of the challenges ahead of time.
A typical day
Depending on where the owner lives, I would be happy to walk anywhere in their local area, such as to the park, around the neighborhood or on trails if there are some nearby. I am also willing to drive dogs to certain dog-friendly hikes, parks and beaches if this is something the owner would permit.

I am currently only going to be volunteering at a vet clinic a couple times a week and the rest of my time is pretty much open. So I have plenty of time to take care of furry friends!
