I'm am insured through Pet Care Sitters Associates. I’m an animal lover who is committed to giving your pet all the love, care, and attention they need. The first thing I like to do when meeting a new pet is to establish trust. Once trust is established, I find it so much easier to go about grooming, playing with, and caring for a pet. A majority of animals I have worked with struggle with anxiety, so this trust component is especially important to me to make these pets feel comfortable. Having had a cat for over 10 years and a dog for over 3 (note, my dog is a family pet and currently does not live with me) as well as from my experience with long term pet sitting, I’m familiar with basic cat and dog grooming, oral medicine administration via food and keeping your pets entertained. I am also starting the process to become a volunteer at the Anti-Cruelty Animal shelter in Chicago. In addition to helping animals in need, I hope to apply the knowledge I gain from this experience to enhance my ability to care for your pet. I have taken the Red Cross pet first aid and CPR course; however, I am waiting to take a more in depth in person class before advertising my knowledge in this area. Your pets safety is important to me and I want to be as prepared as possible. I am a graduate student who is taking a mix of online and in person classes. This fall, I have in person classes in the Loop Monday 9am-12 and Tuesday 1pm-4pm. I will likely have work study work on Monday and Tuesday as well. In addition to school, I substitute W-F (usually 7:45am- 3:45pm) but this is flexible. I am completely free on the weekend. At this time, my preferred requests are for animals that can be left alone for 8-10 hours/used to work hours during week days. If you would like to work with me and your pet needs more care, we can set up a meet and greet to discuss the extent of care your pet needs to be most comfortable so I can arrange my schedule and set a price that reflects said care accordingly. I never commit to a booking unless I am sure I can give your pet the best possible care. In a clients home, I make sure the animal is kept busy and entertained to avoid getting into something in the house. If the animal needs walks outside, I make sure the walks are long (when weather permits) and involve plenty of sniffing time. I also like to give them a chance to play to get any energy out.
