Your dog is not just an animal

Pet care experience

About me: I've been taking care of all pets since I was 8 years old. I'm a professional photographer (Maya Mulleneaux Photography) as well as an avid horseback rider, both English and Western disciplines. I'm currently studying at Rocky Mountain College to get my degree in horse training, as well as a minor in business. I grew up in California. My Photography: As apart of my daily rates, you will receive multiple photos of your dog, not just from my iPhone, but from my professional camera. These digital copies will come to you at no additional charge. If you wish to not have photos of your dog taken and/or posted on my website, let me know. Availability: I am a college student so I do have day classes. But I have time before my first class at 9am to care for your dog, as well as multiple times throughout the day and after 5pm each day to do what is needed to make your dog happy. I will most likely be in Billings for the rest of the semester through April, but I will mark if I am going out of town. My experience with dogs: I have been working with dogs for over 10 years now, I started my own dog walking business when I was 8 years old, charging only $1 for a 30 minute walk. Since then, I have expanded my business from dog walking, dog sitting, and dog training. I've worked with puppies from the age of 8 weeks, to elderly dogs in their late teens. I have worked with dogs as small as Yorkshire Terries, up to Great Danes and Mastiffs. I may be petite, but I know how to handle large dogs. Dog Training: I can reinforce basic commands such as: sit, stay, down, and come. But I can also teach your dog new tricks if you'd like. A dog never stops learning, so keeping them engaged in new activities is always beneficial. I've taught dogs to dance, pick up/put away their toys, and even go up and down the stairs on command. There are endless possibilities to what you can do with your dog, and I'm happy to take the time to teach your dog, and you, how to maintain a stronger bond. Aggressive dogs: Dogs that are aggressive don't scare me. "If a dog bites, it is usually the human's fault" is my philosophy. All dogs come into the world happy and carefree, but what changes them into "bad dogs" is a bad owner. If your dog is aggressive or gets triggered by something that I or an outside source could possibly do, PLEASE tell me. I don't have any reservations with working with your dog, but it makes it safer for me and the dog if I have prior knowledge. Puppies: I have worked with puppies starting since they just emerged from their mum. If you have new pups, or have any under 2 (still considered a puppy) I'm more than happy to care for them. I do ask that you provide vet records that they have been vaccinated, if applicable. Special Needs: I have cared for various special needs dogs, from blind, to deaf, to missing limbs. I know how to manage your dog's special needs. Multiple Dogs: I'm more than happy to watch up to (3) dogs that you own. More than that, please let me know ahead of time and I'm sure it will be fine, but I would need to make sure I don't have prior commitments to ensure that your dogs would get as much exercise as needed.

We stayed at the KOA in Billings, MT and contacted Maya to dog sit for us at our campsite for a day. You can tell right away that Maya loves dogs - as soon as she arrived, our 70 lb German Shepherd 1 year old loved her. We received updates and pictures through out the stay. She even wrote that our dog loves to cuddle..she does not cuddle to just anyone. After Maya left, our dog kept looking for her! Highly recommend using Maya for your dog sitting!!

When Maya was eight-year-olds, she helped me with my two dogs, taking them for walks, training them to do all the commands and some tricks. She then started working with other pet owners in our area. Over the years she built a thriving "pet care" busy, walking training and caring for the pets while the owners were away. She is reliable. Best of all the pets love her. Maya has a real passion for animals

Full disclosure - Maya Mulleneaux is my niece. But that's given me the opportunity to watch her with animals for almost 20 years. She has always had a passion for animals and their welfare. Besides giving them love and good care, she has actively learned what animals under her care needed to be healthy and happy and then followed through with that information. She has cared for cats, dogs, horses, and other barnyard type animals. Her love of animals also extends to her choice of colleges and majors where she is pursuing equestrian studies at Rocky Mountain College. Maya has an open and communicative nature that makes her a delight to be around and work with. She also has photography skills that guarantee great pictures of the animals in her care.

Maya Mulleneaux has dog sit and walked our dog Crumpet for years. She is so responsible and started her dog business when she was 8! Crumpet loves her and when she sees Maya across the street she starts barking and crying and running toward her. Maya is truly a "dog whisper" and recommend her unconditionally. A remarkable young lady.

Information Maya M. would like to know about your pet

I would like to know the age, breed, and gender of your dog. As well as if your dog is fixed, how your dog is on the leash, if your dog has good recall, and temperament with other dogs. Does your dog(s) know any fun tricks? What makes your dog tick? Doorbell? Mailman? Other dogs? Does your dog chase cats, birds, or squirrels?

A typical day

I'm a very sporty and active person myself, so if your dog likes to go on runs, we will go on runs! If your dog likes a casual stroll in the park, I can do that. Anything from driving to dog parks, walking around the mall, exploring the Rims, I can do what your dog enjoys most. Even if it is just letting your dog out for a potty break and letting it right back in, your dog's happiness is my priority.
