Hi my name is Maya! While I am only 18 years old, I have been pet sitting for about seven years and have sat many different types of animals including fish, guinea pigs, cats, and dogs. I am a very active person and love running around and playing dogs whether it be in the gates of my home or the wide open space of a park. Though while exercising is quite fun and exhilarating, just sitting down and cuddling with animals is another activity I enjoy. I have walked and cared for dogs that were only a couple of years old as well as dogs that are older. Having a highly energetic dog myself, I am used to directing all my attention toward pets. I can’t wait to meet and take care of your pet!

Maya has been taking care of my dog Nikka for a few years now and I absolutely trust her. Maya is communicative, responsible and follows through on her committments. She is kind and caring and when my dog Nikka see's her, she gets really excited and tries to break away from me to greet her. She is flexible and works with me when there are schedule changes, I am so happy that she looks after my dog when I need it. Nikka absolutely adores her and I feel secure in knowing Nikka is in good hands when she is with Maya.
My daughter, Maya is an experienced pet sitter who has worked with many families and their pets around our neighborhood over the years. Dogs, cats, reptiles... She is very compassionate about animals. When she chose her own dog Phoebe, over three years ago, she said we had to get a rescue animal. Phoebe is a rambunctious, affectionate pit terrier mix who has been a little skiddish in some situations. Maya is gentle and patient with her and Phoebe adores her. She is also firm with her with a gentle but firm response when Phoebe gets too excited. Maya is a college student who just started at San Francisco State, and is taking her classes online at home like most everyone else, so she has time and flexibility for many types of gigs. Maya is an honest, caring and responsible caregiver for your four-legged friends and is available to start immediately. Of course I think she's a wonderful person too, and not at all because I'm biased!
Maya walked our senior pup Otto for about a year and a half, and goodness did he LOVE Maya. Because I got to work from home, I was able to witness the care and attention that Maya lavished on Otto and his utter excitement whenever she came to walk him. Maya had a key to our home, as we weren’t always there; she is absolutely 100% trustworthy and responsible. Maya always let us know in advance if she couldn’t walk Otto, and often picked up extra walks at short notice if we headed out for the day. With Covid, we couldn’t have Maya to walk him because of the restrictions that came with sheltering in place, and sadly Otto passed suddenly a few months ago. Otherwise, we’d unequivocally rehire Maya; she is kind hearted, shows up, and is terrific with pups.

A typical day
Often time when I walk dogs I’ll go around the neighborhood of where the dog lives but I always asks what the owner would like me to do. I would love to hike with dogs or go to a nice clear place that has some wide open trails and take a walk. Playing fetch and tug of war are something I do often with my own dog and would do with others. And if the dogs is able and the owners would like me to I would be glad to take the dog or dogs to the park.
