I'm a college grad from the University of Missouri just looking to kill two birds with one stone, playing with dogs while also making a little extra $ on the side. I live in Avondale but also spend a lot of time in Liberty/Kearney as that's where my family lives. I've been caring for pets of friends and neighbors since I was little, with no pets of my own until this past year!!! Now I am dog mom/sister to a Bernese Mountain dog, pug, American bulldog, and a French bulldog. I have high expectations when it comes to someone watching my pets, and I will treat your pets as if they were my own :) I love dogs & pets in general, and am a total go-getter! I'm happy to accommodate any unique needs and am totally flexible - I just enjoy getting to spend time with different dogs and getting to know their personalities!

My roommate and I are looking to enjoy lots of different dog personalities in our new house and spacious fenced-in backyard. On occasion, I will also be happy to house-sit! I do prefer the routine of being in my own space and enjoying dog company in my home, especially during work weeks. I have copious amounts of dog/house-sitting experience, including a month-long solo road trip in which I traveled exclusively through house & pet-sitting around the country! I have also house-sat many times for friends and family with multiple dogs, cats, bunnies, etc. I make it a priority to involve pets in my activities when possible, plan for frequent potty breaks and walks, and define myself as a gentle but assertive caregiver.

I like to know a dog's typical behavior tendencies, feeding schedule, any medical needs, how much interaction I should expect, and how many exercise/potty breaks are going to be necessary. Also any potential triggers, off-limits areas or activities.
A typical day
Love walks & being outside. The dog park is my absolute FAVORITE! I also enjoy taking dogs for car rides and to dog-friendly restaurants and stores when possible. Any activity that can be made dog-friendly I most certainly will do!

Availability
I recently started full-time teaching 4th grade in the North Kansas City district! This does mean that I am at work for a solid 7-8 hours, but am usually flexible in the evenings! I generally try to wear my own dogs out before being gone a while, or call on friends or family to help out, then spend plenty of quality time when I am home! I do live with a dog-loving roommate as well- if boarding, she is home all day and works nights so our opposite schedules usually allow for critters to have company almost the entire day!
