Vacation home for your pup! 🏝

Pet care experience

Hi, I'm Maya! Keeping your pets happy is my number one priority. I've had pets (cats, dogs, gerbils, mice, you name it!) my whole life and I've always adored animals. I treat them like I would my own. I work from home, so your pet will have my full attention. I know how much your pets mean to you; you want someone you can trust. Please let me be that person. As I currently work from home, your pet will have my full attention. For dogs, I generally take two daily walks, and have no problem taking more if your dog needs it. My home is equipped with treats, brushes, cat nail clipper, doggy pads, dog beds, toys, and treats (just in case your pet does not have enough). I often have another dog with me, so your pet gets plenty of company! Notes: Boarding: $35 fee for early dropoff/late pickup. Daycare is up to 8 hours. Additional hours subject to fee.

Maya is fantastic! Not only does she have intrinsic puppy and dog know-how, and clearly cares about your animal, she's very responsive, considerate, and respectful. I love working with Maya and trust her with my baby puppy. Taking care of the pup is no joke - she has a ton of energy and can get overexcited easily. I would highly recommend Maya to any Rover clients out there!

I don't really know where to begin. Maya seemed great. She seemed nice and polite and after reading her reviews, I selected her to drop in on our 4 cats while we were out of town. I feel it's important to explain exactly what happened so that potential future Rover clients can use their best judgment hiring Maya for themselves. Unfortunately, we will never hire Maya again. She was unprofessional and took advantage of our family. She never showed up the last day which left our animals without water and food for over 24 hours. Because of her incompetence, Rover gave us a complete refund. They would not discuss whether she would continue to be an employee/contractor with Rover. Because my animals are like my children, I wanted to leave a review so that other families know what to expect when they hire Maya. On our contract/schedule I selected 12/noon for the visit time, but we were pretty open as to what time she could drop in, as long as she did her visits before the sun sets, which is exactly what we told her. My cats are weird about strangers in general, even moreso when strangers are in the house after dark. I made this clear to Maya. The first day she was scheduled to visit, I was very anxious and nervous because the cats are always stressed out the 1st day we're gone. On top of that, Maya was new to "dropping in" on our cats and new to opening our front door. We have ring doorbell that has a camera installed. There's a Yale touch keypad to enter the house (controlled by the August app) and although it's fairly straightforward opening the door, I was anxious for her first time. It was a few hours past noon on the first day, and she hadn't been seen on the door camera, so I messaged her to see when she expected to stop by so that I could have my phone out and be alert to let her in remotely through the August app. It also records and stores every time the deadbolt moves. She responded that she was going to stop by around 5:30pm. So while on vacation, at 5:30pm, I stop what we're doing to sit around to be alert for Maya so that she can enter the house her first day. After a half hour my toddler was restless and we needed to move on with our evening. Finally after 7:30pm she arrives with a guest- someone else is driving and there's also a dog. The other person and dog got out and walked around my front yard (the ring camera recorded it for us) Maya entered at 7:33pm and left at 7:55pm. She stayed for only 22 minutes. Not the 30 minute visit we were expecting. After this visit, I reiterated that I needed the drop in visits to be done before sunset. The sun sets around 8:30pm, it is starting to set around 7:30. She was aware that we wanted the visits completed before the sun started to set, and she showed up late literally every visit. Her second visit, she came at 7:37pm, again with someone else in the car and left at 7:47pm. She was in the house for only 10 minutes. I only received 2 photos this day. On the third day, she entered the house at 8:58pm- well after the sun set and locked the deadbolt at 9:26pm. This was the longest visit for Maya at 28 minutes. She never sent the Rover card this day and didn't send any photos. The following afternoon I expressed my disappointment that she was so late the night before and asked her to please arrive before the sun sets this last day (July 4th). This was the last day we had Maya scheduled to drop in on our cats. The day came and went and around 10pm I messaged Maya to see if she was planning on visiting the cats and her reply was that she had already done her visit. Quickly my husband and I check the multiple cameras inside and outside of our home, as well as the log from our deadbolt, and no one had entered our home. So I message back that it's clear she has not gone by the house, she never sent any photos to me and never started the visit with the Rover app. After stating all of this, she says "I know what I did" and reiterates that she came by the house. My response was that I was disappointed and that Rover would probably fire her for something as awful as leaving our animals stranded. She then says that she has taken 70+ clients from Rover and she doesn't care if she gets fired. After that response, my husband deactivated her code from the front doors deadbolt, it was clear she had no intention on visiting our cats that day at all. We were immediately stressed out. Our animals had been alone for over 24 hours and nothing had been refreshed for their food or water so those were both empty when we got home. I hate that she made our family feel so helpless. We left our vacation a day early because of Maya, if I could leave zero stars for her review, I would have.

Maya is a fantastic sitter! It' so nice not to have to worry about Bruno while I'm away! She provided daily updates with photos of my dog. When I picked him up he was relaxed and happier than ever! Glad to know when I'm on vacation having fun, so is he :) Only problem was, Bruno almost didn't want to come back home with me!

Information Maya G. would like to know about your pet

I would like to know how active your dog is, their usual routine, and what animals they get along with. It is important to me that your pup continues their routine while you're gone, getting plenty of excercise and hanging out with other furry friends.

A typical day

When your pet is getting to know me, I like showing them all of the toys and letting them pick their favorite! We go on walks in the big park, then, once their business is done, over to the mini dog park to play with their top toy.
