At the age of nine, my dad decided that it was time for us to have a dog. After a few cats it was a nice change of responsibility, of course i didn't know that when i was nine. Pumpkin the American Staffordshire Terrier, or more commonly know as a Pit Bull. She was an absolute sweetheart, one and a half year old stray. She didn't know her size or her strength. For the next three years my dad i went through our fair share of puppy problems as well as a multitude of enjoyable fond memories that ill have forever. Due to later circumstances we had to give Pumpkin to a friend. However, upon moving to a house i know call my own with my mother and extended family there was another addition to the family. Merlin the blue merl Australian Shepherd Husky mix. This guy was my dog, my friend, and my brother for many years throughout my adolescent and teenage years. A time for grasping a real understanding of one's self as well as how the real world works, such as caring for another living creature. I will never regret the amount hair that covered literally everything. A furry force to be reckoned with indeed. Currently, and for the past few years, i have been living with my brother and his dog, a 12 year old chocolate Bagel Hound beagle mix named Scrappy. I have also been helping to take care of Shiba Inu, who i believe has a few anxiety issues, as well as a unfortunately now arthritic and diabetic Catahoula Leopard Dog who is lovely old man as we say. In terms of dog sitting and caring away from my own home, i have only gone as far as to dog sit for neighbors and friends. In doing so i treat their dogs as my own and adjust whatever routines i have to the circumstances of the owner. As far as skills, I'm a relatively personable human being, I come from a background in retail and hospitality, so I have no problem with a conversation. Im a calm person as well patient. Plus the cuteness gets to me. And to this day there hasn't been a dog that didn't like me.
