Your best friend's bestie!

Pet care experience

I have always had pets in the house growing up, which made it easier for me to get into apartment sitting and nanny jobs that required pet care. I have experience with many types of animals ! From rodents to reptiles, horses to fishes, and occasionally chickens, I have load of fun with all animals! I’ve trained many puppies and currently visit my elderly family dog often, so I have no problem with high energy pets, those with special needs, and old-timers who just wants company with minimal exercise. I tend to be a patient person who is capable of being firm with commands or recall. However, if you need help teaching a pet to sit and stay, I struggle with giving into the temptation to give them a little treat for effort (joking!). In all seriousness, I’m a psych major with training in applied behavioral treatment and have a great time playing with pets, so I have no problem helping with their training schedule.

Max was great with our 5 month old puppy Roo. They helped us keep up with Roo’s potty and crate training routine while we had to be out of the house for the day and made sure Roo got plenty of naps and play time. Max also kept us updated with pictures which gave us peace of mind. ? we’ll definitely be booking with Max again!

I’m so grateful to have found Max. Max was able to check on our 3 cats (though only 1 came out of hiding) daily. The messages and pictures that were sent were cute actually suited the characteristics of each cat. She doesn’t know yet, but I have other trips planned and I’ll be requesting that she check on the cats then too.

Max was absolutely incredible. Went above and beyond the call of duty. Updated me everyday and was able to handle my spicy kitty as well. I was able to enjoy my time away knowing my babies were in good reliable hands. Highly recommended!

Max was great! She came over before to meet the pups and get to know the house and routine. She was very friendly and professional. I received pictures and she communicated with me throughout. Definitely would recommend her!

Safety, trust & environment

It is important to give a little “hello” and chat with my pets every morning. Feeding time should always be taken seriously as a pet prefers routine, and I don’t want to interrupt the comfort of my own or even your own pets. For walks, I keep dogs on a shorter leash when I’m new areas, but am happy to let them lead me on a loose leash when we are comfortable with one another. Playtime and structure are important for animals who are domesticated, so I think it’s important that they have the attention and resources SAFETY: I can provide basic first aid and can remain calm when I’m an emergency situation. I have no problem taking your pet to the vet for appointments or emergency transport when you need the help, I can attend grooming appointments on your behalf, and we can take trips to the pet store for any supplies you may not have time to pick up that day.

Information Max V. would like to know about your pet

Special needs pets are A-OK! It’s important that we discuss their needs, medications, emergency info, and run over a plan of what to do if an emergency arises in your absence. I’d love to know boundaries of any pet before becoming too comfortable touching or talking to them at my normal pace. I understand some dogs may be finicky and not like loud noises, some cats dislike sudden movements, or some pets may have resource guarding issues or touch sensitivity. These are all normal behaviors that can have serious consequences if not treated with mindfulness, so I’d love to be able to go into an appointment with enough knowledge to build an amazing trust bond with your baby.

A typical day

I love a little bit of neighborhood exploration! If your dog doesn’t know it already, I try to let dogs get a sense of their own neighborhood in case they ever accidentally run away and need to find their way home. I love playing fetch in yards, visiting the river to splash around (I never mind a wet dog), and getting pup cups if their diet permits it. For the most part, I’m content doing a snuggle session at home or just reading aloud to a low energy doggo. For cats, I will happily stare at them, play with them, and snuggle as often as allowed! I understand cats may need significantly more space and sleep plenty, but I’m ready to make them my friend!

I’m a full time student with free early mornings, late afternoons, and nights. I will always appreciate hanging out with your buddy in between classes, and will be able to do so for a set amount of time daily. Currently, my semester is looking pretty homework heavy, but my days are shorter so there’s plenty of time to see a familiar face or two. I’m also a caretaker, loving spouse, and artist who is capable of scheduling in advance! If your little (or big) buddy needs someone nearby while they take a nap, I have no problem reading while listening to them snore.
