Uncle Vinny’s Place for Pups!

Pet care experience

Vinny was my best buddy, and assistant. Sadly he passed away last year so to honor of him, my home is now Uncle Vinny’s Place!! The other pugs, Archie and Mazie,…well they are the camp counselor I guess. Really! They are pro’s and really help make your pets stay enjoyable. After the initial barking right of passage of course. Really tho, once settled their calming fun energy is priceless to me. Pets that stay here kind of pick up their routine and adjust easier. Me, I work for them. I have fostered/home checks for a Mill Dog Rescue going on 20 years. This included special needs, blind, seniors and puppies. Here at Vinnys I have a large fenced - mostly shaded yard, an air conditioned room for the dogs on hot days. I am always home, pets are rarely left alone. I work at home, for myself so your pet will receive maximum supervision & attention. There is always some one home in addition to myself. Fostering many dogs over the years, I’ve seen many different levels of temperament, and pet personalities. Calm consistent compassion on the dogs terms, letting the dog get to know me, my assistant Pugs and the new surrounding on their terms. I think that is key. All dogs get treated as part of the pack here. Part of the family! And with your permission, sometimes we take field trips to the beach, or the bay. I am a film maker so included at no extra charge I like to make little videos in addition to the photos I’ll send during your pets stay. It’s their vacation too, so you’ll have pictures and videos of their stay. AND, if ( I mean WHEN ) you miss your li’l guy you can always pop by - ANYTIME, day or night. I’m not just here to watch your pet, I’m here to make your stay as stress free as possible. The pugs and I do whatever we can to make your fuzzy kids stay enjoyable! We make sure you and your pet are treated like family here! Uncle Vinny wouldn’t have it any other way! Please don’t hesitate, and contact me if you have any questions. I encourage you ( no matter who you choose to watch your baby ) to read the reviews, and if possible do a meet and greet. I can always do it by video chat if you can’t physically visit. I can show you the yard, and the house and of course the pugs. If your dog is allowed to do it at home, they can do it here! Furniture or no furniture, on the bed or off, your rules are what we follow here. We hope to see you soon!

Max was amazing. We felt so comfortable leaving our dog Arya at his home. He was attentive and caring and sent us many updates and photos along the way. We loved knowing Arya was in a safe and comfortable place while we were away. She even loved hanging out with his pugs

Whatever you do for your dog, Max does and more! Communication? Constant. Attentiveness? Flawless. Accommodation? Perfect! Max's home and hospitality are perfect for whatever your pet's needs; my boy had a grand time with Max and the pugs and I couldn't be happier to have found him. Thanks Max!

Max was super friendly and communicative. His two pugs are also very welcoming! My dog had a great time running in the yard and just relaxing inside with Max and his pack. Would definitely book boarding again!

I treat every dog that comes here like one of the pack. I NEVER CRATE! Unless you crate your dog, and bring their crate, there is never any crating here! Dogs have 75% of the home to find their “spot” where they feel comfortable. I have doggie-pen fences ( like long baby gates ) to block off a few areas. I also put these gates by the exists as an extra safety precaution, so they can’t slip out if you enter or exit my home. You can’t be too safe! My pugs are the pros! Being pugs, the “new guy” will get barked at - at first. It’s a pug thing. I’m pretty sure they are literally “barking” out the rules. Then usually in 10 minutes all is well. As mentioned, I believe my pugs calm energy help your pet ease into their stay here. It really works!

Sadly, rescue dogs come into a foster home with special needs. Because I fostered in the past, I have dealt with many different special need dogs, many breeds and temperaments and of course health issues. My pugs are truly my assistants and make a huge difference in how enjoyable your dogs stay will be. And yeah, I am a little more than most but I do a little more too. I don’t take many dogs at one time, so your li’l guy gets more attention. I’m always willing to work with you.

A typical day

Pugs are notoriously lazy BUT, I try to take mine on at least one adventure a week. That could be a walk on the bay, or a trail. Even a simple ride in the car, we get out so they can at least walk a bit and sniff the smells. Only with your permission of course, but your dog is welcome to join us. Within reason - hot days or rainy, well the pugs will share their power napping techniques.

I work from home, so I’m always here! The most I do is run to the store or to WaWa for coffee. If your pet likes car rides, well I have a Jeep and your dog can join me and the pugs. Like I said, occasionally we do field trips. I take lots of pictures and video so you can add your pets memories to your trip too! Missing them? …you will. I have brought pets by to see their owners on occasion. And my door is always open should you want or need to drop by for puppy love!
