Pet care experience
I've grown up with dogs and cats my whole life! Since I've had Labs, German Shepherds and Collies throughout life, I understand the importance of stimulating fun for high energy breeds. I trained service dogs while in college and learned some great techniques for basic training and handling excited young pups. I'm new to the area so I think this would be a great way to explore Raleigh with some local furry friends!

Maureen is so loving and caring - my pup was well taken care of. He was so excited to meet another person and Maureen showed him a lot of love. She's also kept me updated by posting pictures (some of the most adorable pics of him) vis chat alongside status updates. I'll 100% be working with her again in the future - she's one of the best pet sitters I've had in and outside of Rover!
Maureen has been caring for our pets for over 10 years. She has walked our large labs, our German Shepard, our Cavalier King Charles, and other shelter dogs we have had over the years. We always have at least 2 dogs. Sometimes we dog-sit for friends and she walks those dogs too. She has also cared for our cats--fed, water, and changed their litter. Maureen is a very caring individual. She really loves animals and it shows. She gives them constant attention and really likes to be around them. Maureen is also a responsible person, always on time, and has a level head. Because of her kind, caring, and responsible personality, I highly recommend Maureen for taking care of any animals. You will feel relieved knowing your pet is in good hands.
My Daughter, Maureen Joyce, is the biggest pet lover I know. Even as a young child Maureen was attracted to all sorts of animals. She grew up in a pet family environment. We always had at least two dogs and several cats. She enjoyed feeding, playing with, and walking our dogs. As an adult, she really got interested in fitness. She loves the outdoors and currently takes our 70-pound lab out for long walks/runs whenever she comes for a visit. She also has taught our 40-pound rescued Sheppard who has anxiety how to heal. In college, she trained dogs for an organization that fostered therapy dogs. She could handle any dog you may have. Did I mention she has a cat ....she loves them too? I've even had a reactive dog while growing up so I know the importance of taking leashed walks very seriously and to always adjust the daily activities based on the environment and the dog's mood. We always want to keep it fun and safe!
Information Maureen J. would like to know about your pet
Any specific leash habits (types of collars, harnesses, etc.) so I know exactly what I should always put on the dog for a walk. I also have experience with reactive dogs so I'm open to walking them but please let me know any triggers ahead of time to help make the walks as smooth as possible!
A typical day
I love the Greenway trail for nice, long stimulating walks! (I know how to check for tics and always do a thorough check after a walk in wooded areas). I'm a very active person so I'll even go on jogs with your dog if you have a particularly hyper pup who loves to run! And I'm always accommodating to routines if your dog has favorite activities or certain walking routes.

Availability
I have a full-time job but work remotely 3 days of the week. Since I have that flexibility in my schedule I'd love to fit some consistent dog-walking or drop-in visits during my week.
