Hi, I’m Maura! I’m 29 years old and from the Hudson Valley. I have had dogs (cats, chickens, turtles, bunnies, etc.) my entire life. I’ve been frequently dog sitting for friends and family members’ dogs and cats since I was old enough to be home alone. I currently have two dogs who I’m obsessed with! One of my pups is diabetic and requires some extra attention, so I’m quite used to dogs with special needs and administering medication. I also volunteer at a local animal rescue, giving walks, pets, and love to dogs in need of homes. I’m a true dog lover and I am comfortable with dogs of all sizes and temperaments! This was our first time ever using Rover, and Maura was absolutely wonderful. We were visiting from out of town for a wedding, and needed someone trustworthy to stay with our 15 year old pup Kitty while we were at the wedding festivities. Maura was kind, very communicative and made friends with Kitty instantly. I only wish she lived closer to our home so we could book her again and again. Maura did a great job. Sent us pictures and kept us up to date on how our pups were doing. we have never left them before but I felt very confident that they were being well cared for with Maura.
Maura is GREAT! She came by for a meet and greet and to walk Duke with me to understand his nuances. Very professional and took some great pictures. My dog is happy and my house was in good shape. Will hire again! 18/10!!!

I am comfortable administering medication to your dogs (oral or injectable) if needed. I prefer to use a harness when walking, to reduce the risk of him or her slipping their collar. I am always very aware of other dogs/animals/people on walking routes and will never let your dog approach another (or vice-versa) without express permission from you and the other owner first.

A typical day
Every dog is different, so I will always listen to you about their favorite activities, treats, and places to walk! I am an expert in belly rubs and ear scratches! if your dog is comfortable around others, we can go to my local dog park. If not, we can go for a long walk, get our steps in, and play some fetch!

Availability
I work full-time in Poughkeepsie until 4:30 pm Monday through Friday. I am available for dog sitting, drop-ins, or long walks on weeknights after 5-5:30 or so (depending on location,) as well as most weekends. I am also available for dog sitting (most) weekends.
