Pet care experience
When I say the dog life chose me, I mean I was born to a veterinarian. My first job was cleaning kennels in my dad’s practice. Our family dogs were a collection of strays we cleaned up and made a part of our family. As an adult, I’ve rescued 7 dogs at different times. I am adept at giving medications, including insulin shots. I can trim nails if the dog doesn’t mind. And, I give great baths! I love to walk and run dogs. If they need a visit to a dog park, I can take them. I’m a master snuggler and scratcher. I am patient, gentle and kind. I’ve trained my own with Karen Pryor’s clicker method. There is no doubt your dog will be safe and well cared for with me.

Maura has been amazing! She checks in, walks and has daycare with our puppy Milo. She goes above and beyond in both taking care of him and being flexible with our schedule. At daycare Milo gets to go to dog parks and walks and he always comes home happily exhausted. We feel so lucky that Milo is taken care of so well!
Maura would make a wonderful dog sitter because she has such a heart for dogs. She and her family have 3 dogs of their own that they rescued. I’ve seen personally how she loves them, scratches, pets, cuddles, and kisses her dogs (as well as mine and my mom’s). Any time she sees a dog in need, she wishes she could take them home with her. She is personable and would let you know how the day was with your dogs and how they were doing.

I would like to know the dog’s age and breed or mix. I have experience with almost every common breed and have rescued two pit bull mixes, so it’s not a concern unless the dog is aggressive. Also, I would like the dog to have a harness for walks and runs. They are more secure and safer for the dog.
A typical day
I’m always up for a game of fetch and tug-of-war. I walk briskly and prefer runs of no more than two miles. I always carry bags so the neighbors don’t get mad and we can keep waterways clean.
