Hello Friends and Furry Ones!!!
Pet care experience
My name is Matthew, but as long as I can remember my good ol grandpa designated me as Mutt - and I wouldn’t change it for a thing! All my life I’ve been brought up with dogs. Unfortunately their years don’t last as long as ours.. that is why every moment with them is precious! My family has had a total of five dogs over the course of years, each with their own unique spirit and being. I’ve loved each of them the same; with my whole heart. I promise to love your doggo as my own!! So… I actually have been fighting wildland fires as a hotshot the past three years. However my season was brought to a close with a full Achilles’ tendon rupture and repair. Therefore I have been put out of work for the time being. I’m on the mend in my walking boot and have the clearance to move more freely. Missing out on my fire season has left a whole in my heart, but has created this lovely opportunity to join rover! As of right now I have a completely free schedule which makes me an ideal candidate for any of your needs! I look forward to hearing from you about how I may be able to assist in the love and wellbeing of your companion!! Seeing as my circumstances are unexpected, I have landed back at my mothers lovely home near shadle park. The home is dog haven, littered with toys of all sorts in the house as well as throughout the fenced back yard. The furniture and beds are suitable for pets and humans alike! (Unless you want me to train otherwise) plus I have my boy Whiskey who is a year and a half old pup who loves new friends of all shapes and sizes!! Our home is your home!!!

Awesome again!
Matthew was a very kind person but way over booked and to my confusion tried to lie and cover up what was going on. I asked to pick up my dog 20 min early and he said it wasn't a problem saying verbatim “Ahhh okay!! I’m out for a walk with the pups right now but should be back by 4”. When I got to his house at 4 I found my dog inside alone with 3 other dogs running around the house jumping on furniture and tables. It wasn't my dog or any of those dogs he was out walking but turns out he had 3 other dogs in his car that he was doing private walks for. My biggest concern was my dog being left alone with 3 new dogs for over an hour allowed to freely roam a house where nothing was secured. I was then concerned he had tried to convince me he was out walking my dog instead had booked other private walks to make more money on the side. When he saw me our front he tried backpedaling and making random excuses. There was also an angry note from his neighbor in the driveway with a rock. The note was a complaint about the constant barking coming from the house. I was so confused and asked him for an explanation/clarification but he never responded. My dog has been to many other day cares and homes but has never acted so strange after a visit. I say all this to just caution dog parents. There are better more secure options out there for the same price.
Matthew was great with our Australian Shepard. He made sure she was walked, fed, and played with the other dogs. When I picked her up I could tell she had a great stay. I will definitely use Matthew again!
A hero, by all means. I moved to spokane, not knowing anyone in the area, and had to (on short notice) fly out of town for a work conference. Although I have been a Rover sitter for years, this was the first time leaving my pup, Gracie, with someone. Unfortunately, the host I originally booked turned into an uncomfortable and unsettling experience that had me worried for the safety of Gracie while I was away. In a panic, way past appropriate contacting hours, I reached out to Matthew. Not only did he quickly respond, he was open to face timing to learn more about my needs, Gracie’s needs, and assess if it would be a good fit. He promptly picked Gracie up first thing the next morning and immediately I felt the relief. Mathew is an excellent communicator and a compassionate caretaker. He asks the right questions, ensures that the safety of all pups he is watching is taken into immense consideration, and pours love into the care of each one. He is, without a doubt, a special human and I am unbelievably grateful for everything he has done and continues to do for not only Gracie, but for the pup community he has built. Thank you Matthew. We are furever thankful! ?

A typical day
A day in the life of a dog under my tender loving care will consist of various activities that engage your beloved pup both mentally and physically. It may be a hike through the woods or along the river, a jaunt to the dog park, or simply playing in the yard! If you have any personal wants for your doggo, all you need to do is let me know!
